Outlook for April

Hermosa Beach real estate activity for the month of March trended off pace compared to performance

measurements recorded in February. Why? Among other reasons I would say some of this slowing is

directly attributable to the looming tax deadline of April 15th. Another possible contributor is the Fed’s

communication regarding the continued tapering of QE stimulus and other decisions that could affect the

cost to borrowing money in the near future.

So, what is my forecast for April? Based on the last couple of months – data that is mostly positive,

especially when comparing year-over-year stats – it is my opinion real estate activity will definitely pick up

with the month ending somewhere between February and March. However, as we inch closer to

summertime, assuming ceteris paribus, I think total market performance will improve quite noticeably.
