This class is for people who truly live the above. Respectful, Responsible and Ready.

The AP Spanish Language Examination is challenging and rigorous. It is meant to demonstrate that you are capable of work equivalent to that of a 5th or 6th semester college or university course in Spanish language. As this course is meant to prepare you for the exam, meeting the challenges of this course will demand your energy, a positive attitude, an exemplary work ethic, and strict adherence to due dates for assignments, the ability to work well independently, and to focus your attention to details.

Final project/Portfolio: You will be expected to complete a final project at the end of the

year that will showcase your abilities to make original and creative use of Spanish by creating an original product such as a poetry anthology, an original short story, a video presentation, original songs, a cookbook in Spanish, an analysis of a contemporary issue, an episodic novella, original “myths/legends”, etc. Appropriate time will be given for the careful completion of this major project. It will count as your final exam and it will be worth 10 percent of your grade for the year. You will be expected to participate in an exhibition of all final projects during the final days of class.

We will be creating a Spanish portfolio which will be kept in the classroom that will keep certain samples of your work and progress in AP Spanish starting today. It will be reviewed and will possibly part of your year end jury. Keeping and presenting your portfolio will be 10 percent of your grade for quarter 4.

Assignment Introduce yourselves in Spanish. Talk to the people at your table about the topic on the

table and write a brief skit about that topic. Do not write out the script. You will be improvising. For example, my table says the house.

Assign roles ie. Mamá y dos hijos Decide on the plot. Los niños no ayudan a la mamá limpiar.

Mamá dice ¨ Pues, no pueden ir al centro commercial¨ Kids decide to clean and act happy. ¨Ay mami, nos gusta mucho
