Ongoing Estate Sale St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church has been liquidating the very large estate of our beloved deceased parishioner Don Majestic. Mr. Majestic has donated his personal belongings, home, commercial buildings, and other properties to our St. Frances building loan debt, and so it has become our current task to turn his gift into money. So please come to our Estate Sales held every Friday and Saturday from 8am to 1pm at 35163 Yucaipa Blvd to help us by buying some of Don’s treasure. We will be putting new items out every week, so keep coming back to check out what we have. Also, if you have some time to donate, and don’t mind getting dirty, we need volunteers for the estate sales, and also to sort through his belongings. So brings some gloves and join us daily from 9am to 4pm Monday through Thursday at 35181 Yucaipa Blvd., and 8am to 1pm Friday and Saturday at 35163 Yucaipa Blvd. Thank you

"How is it still possible to speak of the dignity of every human person when the killing of the weakest and most innocent is permitted? In the name of what justice is the most unjust of discriminations practiced: some individuals are held to be deserving of defense and others are denied that dignity? When this happens, the process leading to the breakdown of a genuinely human co-existence and the disintegration of the State itself has already begun" (John Paul II, The Gospel of Life, n.20). Reflection: Abortion is not just an "issue." It deteriorates the very foundations of civilization Prayer: Preserve our society, Lord, by freeing it from legal abortion. Amen

GIVING ALL Trusting widows play a significant role in this weekend’s readings. At the point of poverty, when giving even the smallest amount of what they had could imperil their health and well-being, they trusted God and gave anyway. What is important about their giving is not what or how much they gave, but how they gave it. Without selfishness, they gave to help others. Their giving was from the heart, with little hope or intention of receiving any sort of reward or recognition for their generosity. The monetary values of the widows’ gifts were small, but their value measured in the Kingdom was priceless. There is a significant similarity between their gift and the gift Jesus gave each of us. The widows offered their lives for God. Jesus offered his life for us.

© Copyright, J. S. Paluch Co.

Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time 4 November 8, 2015

Last Sunday we celebrated “All Saint’s Day”, a feast day celebrating all of the Saints in Heaven. The “Book

of Revelation” 7:9014 described the celebration in Heaven as a “great multitude” of people from every nation, race, and people.” We have a book in

our lending library written by Dr. Scott Hahn, one of our most outstanding authors of spiritual books entitled “The Lamb’s Supper”, with a subtitle of “The Mass as Heaven on Earth”. The 1st paragraph quotes Pope John Paul II as also saying that the Mass is “Heaven on earth” and explains that “the liturgy we celebrate on earth is a mysterious participation in the heavenly liturgy”.” Scott Hahn is a former Presbyterian Minister who converted to Catholicism after studying the early Church Fathers who were Christian writers and teachers of the first 8 centuries of the church, who wrote commentaries on the Bible and on the early Church. As he was reading the Church Fathers, they frequently referred to the “liturgy”. Dr. Hahn discovered that the ancient liturgy incorporated details of the Book of Revelation. For most of the early Christians The Book of Revelation was incomprehensible apart from the liturgy. (p. 66) It was only when he began attending Mass that many parts of the puzzling book were recognizable: Revelation’s altar, robed priests, candles, incense, manna, chalices, Sunday worship, The Blessed Virgin, Holy, Holy, Holy, The Gloria, The Sign of the Cross, The Alleluia, The scripture readings, and The Lamb of God. (p. 69) He extends an invitation to each of you to accompany him in learning why Pope John Paul II and he (Dr. Hahn) call the Mass, “Heaven on Earth” (p. 62). This book is a gift from God because it will make it possible for you to realize what a truly blessed, wonderful, holy Church our Catholic church is!!! “We the Stephen Ministry sincerely care about you!!
