We are excited to welcome Rev. Tom Bodkin to lead us until our new pastor comes to shepherd us. Rev. Bodkin recently retired as associate pastor at Hayes Barton Baptist and prior to that call, served as pastor of Rosemary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids for 18 years. His wife of 44 years, Betty, teaches piano and also is very active in church life. The Bodkins led the Senior Adult Conferences at Caraway for eleven years. Rev. Bodkin will preach our Sunday morning sermons and lead us in Wednesday night Bible study.

Announcements

The 2012 week of prayer for North American Missions and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering is March 4-11. Your Annie Armstrong and/or CBF Global Missions Offerings will be accepted throughout the month of March. Envelopes for both Missions can be found in your bulletin. Spring Senior Adult Rally - The Senior Adult Rally is Tuesday, March 27th at Garner First Baptist Church, 601 Saint Mary’s Street, Garner. Registration begins at 9:00 am and the program begins at 9:30 am. The cost is $11.00. If you would like to go please register by Monday, March 5th. The number of seats is limited, so we are trying to get registered early. Sign-up sheets are in your Sunday School classroom. Please make checks payable to the Raleigh Baptist Association. KBC has started a “Backpack Buddies” ministry at Knightdale Elementary School. We provide a plastic bag filled with food items to help get a hungry child through the weekend who might not otherwise get a meal until they return to school again on Monday morning. Please help us with this ministry by contributing food items to help a hungry child in our town. Large, clear plastic bins are located in the Vestibule, Education Bldg., Fellowship Hall and outside the elevator in the Family Life Center to place your food donations. Grocery Items Needed: granola bars; macaroni and cheese (easy mac or boxed); applesauce; cans of corn, green beans, peas, and carrots; Pop-Tarts; individual boxes of cereal (one serving size); peanut butter; jelly; canned fruits; boxed pasta; plastic jars of pasta sauce; canned pasta like Chef Boyardee or Spaghettios. Please no glass containers due to the possibility of breakage and if you can find any of these items in plastic containers instead of cans that would be great as well. For those of you who use coupons, there are pink plastic boxes in many S.S. classes that can store your collected coupons for placement into a black and white “Master Coupon Box” located in the Education Building. These coupons can be used by anyone for purchasing items for the “Backpack Buddies” program. Thank you! Church Council Meeting - Today at 6:00 pm in the Conference Room. Bring your gloves, shovels, rakes, etc. Maybe you can’t help work, but perhaps you could put a group together and provide lunch for the workers. Also, if you have a change in the schedule for the children’s nursery or children’s church, please contact the monthly coordinator so that the change can be made prior to the printing of the worship bulletin. However, any permanent changes in the schedule should continue to be handled by the lead coordinator.

Thank you for all your help.

Attention KBC Parents: If you have a child participating in children’s worship, please make sure they are picked up at the end of the church service by a parent or adult. The children’s worship leaders will only allow children to be picked up by a parent or adult from the nursery, toddler, 2-3 year old, 4-5 year old, or 6-7 year old classrooms.
