Age 94. Entered into rest Peacefully at her home on November 17, 2014. Be-loved wife of the late Rapha-el (Ralph) Ruggiero. Loving mother of Ralph (Elaine) Ruggiero, Daniel Ruggiero, Joel (Michelle) Ruggiero Sr, Anne Laurine (John) Wickett and late Nicholas Ruggiero. Grandmother of Timothy Ruggiero, Rafael (Tammy) Ruggiero, Laurine (Henry) Wickett, John Michael (Ves-per) Wickett, Daniel (Lisa) Wickett, Joel Ruggiero Jr., Nicholas Raphael Rug-giero, and Elisa-Michelle Ruggiero. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren and special canine companions Oden and Sandy. No prior visitation. In lieu of flow-ers memorials to Meals on Wheels, Kids Escaping Drugs or Humane Society.

Recovery is Underway in Lake Shore

The Lake Shore Central School District has contracted with three snow removal services to begin the difficult task of clearing eight feet of snow from roadways, parking lots and sidewalks surrounding the schools in our community. Initial building walk throughs have been completed on Saturday and there is no visible damage to our school buildings. However, the safety of all buildings will be veri-fied by structural engineers and inspections prior to school resuming. The storm has passed, however cleanup and recovery operations will continue as we ensure that there are clear fire exits, doorways and building entrances at all of our campuses when school resumes. All Lake Shore Central School buildings are closed dur-ing this recovery effort and we ask that residents restrict their travel to and on our campuses during this massive snow removal effort as well as obey driving restrictions in our towns, villages and region. The District will continue to update residents through the District website and Global Connect.

Field Trip to Wegman’s The students in Mrs. Wegrzynowski’s and Mrs. Takacs’ fourth grade classes from J. T. Waugh Elementary School recently took a Field Trip to Wegmans. The trip was titled Eat Well Live Well. The students were broken up into groups and each visited the Produce, Bakery, Meat & Sea-food and the Cheese Departments. At each department the students were able to sample healthy foods and learn about the suggested daily allowance for a strong healthy body. Pictured are students from Mrs. Wegrzynowski’s Class.

Cecil Weglewski (nee Cash) originally of Ango-la, NY and then Fredonia Place, passed away Mon-day, November 17, 2014. She was 96. Cecil was born December 5, 1917 to Ward and Mildred Cash in the Cash family home in Oak Grove Commu-nity. Cecil¹s loving hus-band of 61 years, Anthony Weglewski passed away on December 31, 2005. Her children and spouses survive her: William and Susan Weglewski of Strat-ford, CT, Patricia Wagner of Rochester, NY, Linda and Angelo Sorrento of South Riding, VA. Throughout her life, she was active in com-munity service including Lake Erie Beach Volun-teer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary as a Charter Member, First Congrega-tional United Church of Christ, American Heart Association and while her children were young, Girl Scouts and 4-H. Through her community service, she instilled compassion and taught her family the value of helping others. She was a talented art-ist and gardener. Funeral services were held Friday, November 28. Interment will be in Forest Avenue Cemetery, Angola, NY 14006. In lieu of flow-ers, memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 132 N.
