CUB SCOUTS DO ZOO SNOOZE Cub scouts fromm pack #528, Angola, participated in an overnight experience at the Buffalo Zoo. The boys participated in enrichment and hands on learning ex-periences. After, a nighttime tour and pizza party, they slept in the Eco-station. They were accompanied by the chattering of monkeys, purrs from a tiger, and awak-ened by the lion’s roar. After breakfast there was a long and fascinating private tour of zoo life before opening for the public. CITIZEN SOLDIERS EXTEND THEIR SERVICE TO STATE AND NATION

Major General Patrick A. Murphy, the Adjutant Gen-eral, announces the recent reenlistment of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their continuing commitment to serve community, state and nation as part of the Army National Guard. Staff Sergeant Jennifer Davis from Angola, N.Y. (postal code 14006) has reenlisted to continue service with the Company A (Distribution), 427th Brigade Sup-port Battalion. Sergeant Lloyd Carlson from Derby, N.Y. (postal code 14047) has reenlisted to continue service with the Head-quarters and Headquarters Troop, 2-101 Cavalry (Re-connaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition). “The New York Army National Guard has sustained our force at or above 100 percent strength for the bet-ter part of five years now,” Murphy said. “Keeping those ready forces in our ranks means that New York is ready to provide forces for state missions here at home, as we saw during Hurricane Sandy or for the federal missions supporting our nation around the country and around the world.” “Each of our 16,000 men and women serving in the Army and Air National Guard has an important role and I’m pleased that so many continue to reenlist and remain part of our New York National Guard family.”
