CHARLOTTE KELLY (Nee Pillion,

formerly Gile) A Mass of Christina Burial was held at Blessed John Paull II Parish for Charlotte Kelly, of Lake View, NY, who died on May 10, 2013. She was the devoted mother of John Gile. Charlotte gradu-ated from Hamburg High School, Syracuse Univer-sity with a degree in Home Economics and attended Simmons College. She worked as her father’s Con-gressional secretary from 1953 – 1961, his legal sec-retary from 1965 – 1968, worked at LL Berger, Co., and was a realtor with Re-alty One and Realty World from 1978 – 1986 when she retired. Charlotte was active in the Altar and Ro-sary Society, Parish Neigh-bors, and Parish Council of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church which is now Blessed John Paul II Parish. LEO P. ROULEAU Services were held in St. Sebastian Catho-lic Church, Florida,for World War II Veteran Leo P. Rouleau, who passed away on April 26, 2013 at the age of 94. He was born in Azilda, Ontario on September 6, 1918. He and his family came to the United States in 1925. They became citizens in 1937. Leo was a gradu-ate of South Park High School Class of 1937. He married Evelyn A. Beck in 1941. She passed in 2000 after 59 years of marriage. They had 2 daughters, Di-anne Johnson and Sharon (Stoklosa) Przepiora (Vin-cent). Leo served aboard the U.S.S. Randolph as a radarman. He was em-ployed by Bethlehem Steel for 33 years and retired in 197. He and Evelyn lived in Hanford Bay and Pinel-lis Park, Florida. They also had a summer home in Snyder Beach, NY. He enjoyed cards, football, baseball, golf and bowling. He played baseball, golfed and bowled into his late eighties. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Sgt. Paul Johnson (Lisa), Eric John-son, Kurt (Arlene) John-son, Craig (Debbie) John-son, Sharlene (Ricardo) Stoklosa, Keith (Tammy) Stoklosa and Marlene (Robert) Attardo, as well as 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is also survived by his loving companion, Edna Krajewski. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved Evelyn at Bay Pines Cem-etery on the grounds of the VA Hospital in Tampa, Florida with military hon-ors at a later date.

MEMORIAL DAY, Monday May 27, 2013 is the special day on which we re-member our departed loved ones. It is the day for expressing tributes to our HONORED DEAD – THE MORE THAN ONE MILLION MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE GIVEN THEIR LIVES IN BATTLE since the American Revolutionary War, de-fending the freedoms which we, the living, enjoy today.

Our MEMORIAL DAY has always been the special occasion for tributes to all the departed – WITHOUT any discrimination. “In the democracy of the depart-ed, all men at last are EQUAL. There is neither RANK nor STATION, nor PREROG-ATIVE – in the REPUBLIC OF THE GRAVE.” That is the way MEMORIAL DAY has been through the years – a day for EULOGIES and for FLOWERS & PRAYERS – to express our LOVE, RESPECT and GRATITUDE. Our LOVE for all departed ones, our HUMBLENESS of spirit and GRATITUDE are in recognition of the indebted-ness we feel for the many precious benefits we have inherited-those are the touchstones of MEMORIAL DAY.

On Monday, May 27, 2013, Newcomb-Long Post 928 of the American Legion and the Evans Township Post 5798 Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold their annual MEMORIAL DAY PARADE and SERVICE in the Village of Angola. Line up for the parade will be at the Angola Fire Hall grounds at 41 Commercial Street at 9:30 A.M. The Parade will start at 10:00 A.M. We will march/parade to the Forest Avenue Cemetery for the services and then back to the Village. We invite Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Firefighters, all organizations and all Veterans from all wars to join us for this important parade and service. Be at the Fire Hall grounds at 41 Commercial Street at 9:30 A.M. and you will be put in line for the Parade. We would like to have all the Gold Star Mothers attend this service. We also encourage decorated bikes, etc.

However, he has recently learned that he will be in need of a kidney transplant. With his desire to help anyone that is in need, he decided that he would become a Volunteer Firefighter and has given his time for over 26 years to various communities including Eden-Evans Center and the Angola Fire Hall. Along with being a firefighter, he de-cided that he was going to learn the skills to become an EMT, in which he has been successful at for over the past 15 years.

Within the past few months he was rushed to the hospital, learning that his kidney was not working properly and was told that he would need to begin kidney dialysis because his kid-neys were only working at 2%. Through the up and down days

he has tried to keep a positive mind knowing that his family and friends are willing to do any-thing possible to help. Along with knowing that he will have to start kidney dialysis and find a kidney donor, another obstacle was thrown his way when he learned that his health insurance will not cover the transplant procedure.

As he has been working on trying to improve his health, many family and friends have been working diligently to work on creating a benefit to pay for the transplant.
