12 SEPTEMBER FINBAR FUREY: Finbar Furey comes from a unique pedigree - an all Ireland Uillean Pipe Champion and whistle player, singer/songwriter as well as playing 5-string banjo, and guitar. In 1972 John Peel gave Finbar, and his brother Eddie, their big break by voting them act of the year. Their music was phenomenal because it was a new sound - Irish (Uillean) Pipes with Guitar and voice (which up till then had not been done) and now actor . Finbar has been round the block many times with brother Eddie, recording for Transatlantic records in the 60's and after 30 years of phenomenal success as the frontman for the family group, Finbar decided it was time to pursue his solo career and concentrate particularly on his own song writing, singing and playing the instruments for which he is loved- the uileann pipes, 5 string banjo and the low whistle. Finbar's reputation as a solo artist has increased with every performance. Backstage at the Green Hotel, 2 Muirs, Kinross. 8.00pm doors and show starts at 9.00pm. Tickets £20. BLOOD RELATIVES / REDFOOT THE FENCE’: Anyone with any sense loved Kitty The Lion, now fresh with a new name and new direction, we welcome their new guise - Blood Relatives to Aberdeen for the first time. Having played music together for a number of years, the band release their debut album in the Autumn of 2013. The music blends a uniquely Scottish sense of humour with a sunny sound, because they like to be upbeat to detract from the dreary weather of their hometown. Lyrical depth is a defining feature of the music: the songs are word-play entwined with catchy pop hooks so that it stays in your head long after you've left the show. The Tunnels, Carnegies Brae, Aberdeen. 14 plus event. Tickets from Cafe Drummond Aberdeen, www.agpaberdeen.bigcartel.com www.seetickets.com and on the door. 23 SEPTEMBER BEANS ON TOAST / CRAIG JOHN DAVIDSON / MARK AYLING / WILL LEATHERBARROW: Beans on Toast is one man with a guitar, writing songs that he claims ‘have the same chords’ and ‘sound like Billy Bragg’. He

blends a dark wit with serious social and political satire based on a diverse range of subjects including cocaine, Tesco, London, gun crime, myspace, global warming and the Lake District. He is a friend of Frank Turner, and is mentioned in I Knew Prufock Before He Got Famous, Live Fast Die Old and To Absent Friends. The Tunnels, Carnegies Brae, Aberdeen. 14 plus event. Described as "kings and queens of indie pop in Scotland" by Vic Galloway, Randolph's Leap bring you perfect pop music which twists the folk genre to its limits. Aberdeens Stanley are back with a new look line up but all of the talent and tunes that have seen them rightfully rise to the forefront of the scene in the city and completing the bill are Edinburgh based The Youth &

Young, who recently won over a mass of new fans on their Aberdeen debut at Cafe Drummond. . The Tunnels, Carnegies Brae, Aberdeen. 14 plus event. Tickets from Cafe Drummond Aberdeen, www.agpaberdeen.bigcartel.com www.seetickets.com and on the door. 28 SEPTEMBER RM HUBBERT / CRAIG B (UNWINDING HOURS): It didn't need his recent Scottish Album Of The Year award to tell us that RM Hubbert is an amazing talent, but the recent accolade has introduced many more to this talented solo artist. As support acts go, you can't wish for any better than Craig B of Unwinding Hours. Another perfect show! . The Tunnels, Carnegies Brae, Aberdeen. 14 plus event. Aros (Isle of Skye) Ltd, Viewfield Road, Portree, Isle of Skye. Box Office 01478 613750 21 SEPTEMBER KAKATSITSI - Master Drummers From Ghana: Kakatsitsi are a group of traditional drummers, dancers and singers from the Ga tribe of Southern Ghana, with their roots in the fishing community of Jamestown, the part of Accra where the British based their colonial headquarters. Their music combines traditional drumming grooves played on a wide variety of West African drums with melodies from bamboo flutes, xylophone and traditional chants sung in six part harmony, the quality of which sets them above most dance-led traditional African groups. Their music takes traditional rhythms and chants from their own Ga tradition and those of a variety of other West African cultures, rearranging them in a modern and accessible way. Since 1996, Kakatsitsi have toured the UK seven times, working with a wide variety of festivals, arts centres and local authorities. The recent addition of a strong dance element, to complement the already outstanding drumming and singing components, has established Kakatsitsi as the leading African traditional group in the UK, with the leading Ga singers, drummers and dancers among their number.
