FATHERSON; LOUISE MCCRAW, A young budding singer songwriter, Louise McCraw, 14 years old, has been announced as the support act for Fatherson, the Band of the moment, Callum Maguire (Lamp House Music) said of Louise,“Louise is a fine example of what our Music Schools are all about – encouraging young people to discover what they enjoy, where their talent lies and then nurturing it. It is possible to have a career in music, performing might just be a part of it, but it can be done. There’s an incredible amount of young musical talent in East Lothian, and not only are Lamp House Music keen to work with these young people but we also want to provide them with the stepping stones of opportunity to grow and shine in performing live. Introducing Fatherson is a very enviable support slot, giving it to Louise shows how much we are rooting for her.” The last in the current series of live, original, acoustic music evenings presented by the John Gray Centre, in association with Lamp House Music. THE MOUSE THAT ATE THE CAT’; TMTATC started as a side-project between Glasgow-based Brian Henderson (who was fronting The Dykeenies at the time) and Colin Keenan (formerly of Drive-By Argument). Within a month of posting material online, they were number 5 in the Amazing Radio chart (without any form of press push), later hitting number 75 in the top 100 tracks on the site in 2011, being played on Radio 1 and featured as Track Of The Week on This Is Fake DI. The band have taken on a bigger, edgier sound as of late, using both acoustic and electronic drums with thick bass synths to create their rhythm sections with walls of synths, layered vocals and guitars giving them a more energetic and upbeat sound than their earlier lo-fi electronic-pop days. 40 Years From Now is out now. - Electric Circus, 36 Market Street, Edinburgh. BREABACH Following the success of the album BANN, Breabach are hitting the road for a short run of four dates. The band has a new edge, energy and focus, and with increasing popularity and fast growing international recognition it’s little wonder Breabach received nominations for ‘Best Group’ at both the 2011 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and the Scots Trad Music Awards simultaneously. The eleven tracks that made up BANN have been cultivated with the same honesty and integrity that has always driven Breabach forward as a group of traditional players Megan Henderson and James Mackenzie bring an inspiring highland energy and cultural grounding as well as diverse musicianship on fiddle, vocals, highland pipes and wooden flute. James Lindsay is a long time band member though Bann is his debut on a Breabach recording. James has been invaluable as a writer and arranger for the band. Ewan Robertson and James together

have developed as an inventive unit over the last two years of touring, and the lineup is completed by multi-instrumentalist Calum MacCrimmon who supplies bagpipes, whistles, bouzouki, vocals and Jews harp. The Cat Strand.
