The Indian Institute of Packaging is one of the founder members of the APF and has been a great contributor in the formation and working of APF. APF has selected IIP with its vast infrastructural facilities of testing in NABL accredited laboratories, R&D, Consultancy and Training matching world class standards to conduct the programme.The Indian Institute of Packaging has helped many developing countries in the promotion of packaging through projects for prominent international bodies like the United Nation Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) , In te rnat iona l Trade Centre (ITC), theCommonwealth Fund for Technical Co-operation (CFTC) and the European Union (EU).

The APF, a non-profit organisation, established in Tokyo, Japan, in 1967, unites the packaging interests of all trade and industries in the Asia- Pacific region and beyond, under one co-operative umbrella. The objective of the Federation is to enhance cross country cooperation among all packaging-related bodies, covering a gamut of subjects like training

Programme ObjectiveWith the globalization of markets and trade, the role of PACKAGING has assumed a great significance for marketing and distribution of products. With the increasing focus on the development of technological capabilities, training plays a major role in the development of knowledge, infrastructure and data bases. The focus of the programme is aimed at bringing to the fore, the concept of packaging and Packaging Technology as well as provide valuable insight into the state-of-art practices, emerging technologies and trends in packaging.

The main objectives of the programme are: To discuss the socio-cultural and scientific needs

through the active participation from various countries.

To give opportunity to the participants to interact with the faculty and the industry.

FacultyThe core faculty for the course are from Indian Institute of Packaging, who are well trained from Institutes of International repute like PIRA International – U.K., Michigan State University – USA, TNO – CIVO – The Netherlands, EMPA – Switzerland and International Trade Centre – Geneva. One or two eminent experts from Industries of Asian countries may also be invited.

Eligibility for ParticipationFor effective utilization of the course, it is desirable that the participants should have adequate technical background and minimum two years experience in the field of packaging to understand the course proceedings and interact effectively with the faculty and fellow participants. The participants should be graduates in science / engineering / technology. The participants could be personnel engaged in production/process, quality control, purchase, marketing activities, product-package R&D activities as well as from packaging Institutes/Associations, suppliers/users of packaging materials.

Language ProficiencySince the programme will be conducted in English, the participants are expected to be proficient in English language.

FeeThe programme fee will be borne by APF which includes tuition fee , course materials, refreshments and working lunch during the programme. For boarding/lodging, per participant cost would be 300 US Dollars which will have to be borne by the participants or the sponsoring organisation. Budget accommodation will be provided on twin sharing basis (self-contained A/C room).The fee does not include to and fro travel cost by air, local transport and per diem cost.

CertificateThe APF will issue certificates to the participants on successful completion of the programme.
