Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Every Friday 9:00am to 9:00pm In Chapel of Adoration

What do you actually do during adoration? You may sign up to be an "adorer" which allows you to

schedule yourself for one or more hours per week to pray before the very presence of Our Lord, exposed in the

monstrance. It means that you can have some time alone with Jesus to recite your favorite prayers, read the bible, contemplate acts of faith, hope, charity, thanksgiving,

reparation, pray a rosary or do whatever type of prayerful devotion that suits you before Our Lord.

Or you can just sit and say nothing simply keeping Him company, just as you would with a dear friend.

August 15 It is not a Holyday

It’s time again for the annual Migrant Children’s Back-to-School Shoe Campaign.

Your donation of $10 will provide a gift certificate that will give a migrant or needy child the opportunity to select the style and size of the shoes he or she would like

to wear “Back to School” this fall.

Everyday Stewardship

Have you ever heard of Wolfgang Beltracchi? For decades he created forgeries of works from the most famous painters in history and he made millions doing it. He was so talented in creating them that many of his creations were hanging, and may even hang to this day, in museums and art galleries around the globe. Experts cannot even tell the difference, and this has led to an inability to verify and then appraise pieces of art all over the world. The risk for the appraiser is too high since they might get it wrong. Beltracchi claims to have made one mistake, using the wrong paint on a painting, which then led to his arrest and conviction. After serving eighteen months of a six-year jail sentence, he continues to create original art and write books in order to help pay for all the lawsuits currently against him. There is no question about the immorality of lying and cheating in this manner. However, can you even imagine being able to create an imitation of something so close to the original that no one could tell the difference? Someone not familiar with the original could be easily fooled. But to fool so-called experts would be quite amazing. Saint Paul wrote to the Ephesians and encouraged them to be imitators of Jesus Christ, by living in love and sacrificing their very selves. Can you imagine imitating Jesus so closely that people only see him when they look at you? The term "Christian" means to put on Christ. We are to be Jesus Christ to the world, leaving Mass where we have consumed him in the Eucharist so we can be more like him. Everyday Stewards are called to give more like Christ, share more like Christ, and love more like Christ. It is no crime to imitate Jesus Christ, but instead, a sin not to try. Project Rachel Retreat for Hope & Healing after Abortion Registration is now open for a one-day retreat on Saturday, September 19, at a confidential location within the Diocese. This retreat is designed to help women hurting from past abortions experience the personal love of Christ and find hope for healing. It will offer a loving and confidential environment to hear stories of post-abortion healing, share Scriptural stories of Christ's healing love, spend quiet time in prayer and receive Sacramental Reconciliation and Eucharist. To allow sufficient time for sharing, the retreat is limited to 10 participants. Pre-registration is required. For further information, contact Fonda on the confidential helpline at 239-719-7210.
