Welcome to December and my personal favorite time of the year. It is a time giving back and to enjoying your family. I personally love to cook that perfect Christmas dinner to share with everyone at our Holi-day gathering. As for giving back, FRV will gives you that opportunity repeatedly. Starting in Decem-ber at our meeting, we will again be collecting non-perishable foods and donations to be given to the El-gin Woman’s Shelter. Our very own Rich Gallagher
has been leading the charge of this giving back project for a number of years. The organization is always very appreciative of the food and donations given to them. You second opportunity to give back to this club is to join our awesome Board of Directors. We have some much that we can do if we had the manpower to pull it off. We really do need your help. If you are interested, please see me at the December meeting. Speaking of the FRV Board. We have put together our 2020 calendar and again the club will be very busy with a fantastic guest speaker lineup, fun filled outings, youth events, and other great learn-ing experiences. Remember our number one goal as a club is to share knowledge and make YOU a better Muskie angler. At our last outing, nine of us got to experience “The Beetle House” at the Garmish Resort in Cable Wisconsin. What a place to have an outing. The house had over 8,000 square foot of living space with a bed for everyone. In ad-dition, despite the sucker shortage, we did manage to catch a few fish. Congratulations to Rich Gallagher on catching that 47 inch Hybrid, for many of us this would be a fish of a lifetime. We will be return to the resort again next year. Make you plans to attend with us. The last subject I would like to touch base on is our new special raffle that will be starting at the December meeting. We will be raffling of a limited number of the Todd Cleveland “The Wall” Phantom Baits. More de-tails will be included in this newsletter. I hope you buys some tickets and support the chapter. I hope to see you all at the December meeting.

THE FOX RIVER VALLEY CHAPTER PROUDLY PRESENTS ANDREW RAGAS
WENDNESDAY DECEMBER 11TH, 2019 AT THE SCHAUMBURG GOLF CLUB
Join us on Wednesday December 11th, 2019 for a seminar with the famed Northwood’s guide Andrew Ra-gas!! Even though Andrew is a Bass guide, fishing for Muskies on rivers and streams with small boat is one of his other passions, and a unique fishing adventure he has been successfully doing for over a decade on the many rivers and creeks throughout northern WI. Andrew’s 1 hour presentation will be about fish-ing for river muskies via wading and small boat fishing. Keeping all locations and access confidential, An-drew will introduce anglers to his world of getting lost in the boonies. We will learn how to approach these flows and pattern Wisconsin's state fish from May season opener through November's season end. Addi-tionally, we will be incorporating some local success and how-to on the growing and establishing river muskie fisheries in Northern Illinois. Despite the rugged adventure and physical nature of river fishing, an-glers will learn how affordable, accessible, and productive fishing these trips can be. This meeting is also our annual canned food drive for the Elgin Women’s Shelter! Bring some canned goods or other non-perishable items to the meeting and FRV will waive your $5.00 admission fee that evening! Every year we drop off a truckload of canned goods and other non-perishable items to the Women’s Shelter and they are very grateful for us being able to help out women and their children during the Holiday Season! Please don’t forget to bring these items with you to the final meeting of the year! Don’t miss this great meeting as our monthly club meetings resume!! Grab a friend and come on out and join us! You’ll be glad you did! Admission is $5.00/person at the door. Hope to see you at the meeting! Our meeting begins at 7:00PM at The Schaumburg Golf Club which is located at 401 N. Ro-selle Road in Schaumburg, IL. All meetings are open to the public. Guests are always welcome!

I hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving and were able to enjoy it and be Thankful for many thing, I know I am very Thankful for many things......a great Family, great times fishing with my wife and son, and very Thankful to be part of this great muskie club, with all the stuff we do. I am blessed to be the Youth Director of FRV and very impressed with how the whole club has stepped up to support our Youth Fishing Activities. We had some great outings and I am really looking for 2020. This year we have 3 youth events scheduled as if now. May 2nd will be our 2nd Take A Kid Fishing on the Fox Chain with Musky Tales being our host. Last year we took 13 kids out and this year I am aiming for 25. Early June we will be do-ing our One Hope United outing (date TBD), where we take underprivileged boys out for a morning of fishing. Some of these kids have never fished or even been on a boat. And in Sept (date TBD) we will be sending kids to
Hayward for the YCA Youth Muskie Hunt. If anyone has any muskie tackle they don't use anymore and would like to "Pay it Forward" please let me know and we will be glad to give it to a younger angler to be put to good use. I have no problem if you need me to pick it up. Thank you for everyone's support with FRV Youth Fishing!

FROM THE MEMBERSHIP CIRCLE P A G E 6

FROM THE MEMBERSHIP CIRCLE… Thanksgiving is six days away as I write this article and December only nine days. I trust we all have a lot to be thankful for family, friends, good health, a decent income and more. I know some of us have problems and maybe have lost a loved one. I have lost a young family member and some older friends in the past year, yet on the positive side I am grateful that I had their ac-quaintance and friendship. Life is busy and complicated especially in these times, we all need something to take our mind off of our daily concerns.
Fishing is one of those hobby's that helps us to relax and forget our daily problems. Sitting on a pier, pole in-hand or in a boat on a quiet sunny day, letting your mind wonder and reflect is a wonderful experience. I hope our Chapter has been a good experience for you. We try very hard to make meetings and events a fun time for all. We do need your input plus more volunteers to succeed in our mission. So don't stand on the side-line, step-up, help out with events, come to the next board meeting, get involved in the clubs affairs. We need your support. I wish you all a wonderful holiday!
Membership Director Frank Lucido
WE WANT YOU!! We are looking for new board members for the 2020 FRV Board of Directors. Got some new ideas? Want to take the club in a new direction? Want to make a difference? Are you simply willing to help out with an event or two? How about assisting with the Challunge on the Chain, Kids Fishing Out-ings, Canned Food Drive, One Hope United Outing, the list goes on!! See Dan Koniewicz and let him know you’d like to help and we will put you to work!!
PHANTOM LURE RAFFLE P A G E 7
W W W . F R V M U S K I E . C O M
Todd Cleveland was the artist behind the Phantom Bait. Unfortunately for the Mus-kie community Todd passed away from cancer in June of 2018. Todd's original designs and paint work made the Phantom bait a must have bait. On top of that, they catch fish!! The story is that every time Todd made a new design of a Phan-tom, he would keep on copy for himself and place it on the wall of his workshop. FRV has 14 of the Todd Cleveland custom painted "The Wall" Phantom baits. Last winter, Todd's wife Sandy was at the Wausau Wisconsin Muskie Expo selling these baits to the Muskie public for $40.00 each. Now you have your chance of obtain one of "The Wall" Phantom baits for your collection. Each bait is marked "The Wall" and is truly a one of a kind. Start-ing at the December 2019, FRV will be selling raffle tickets for your chance to win one of these special baits. Tickets will be $10.00 each. And with your pur-chase you will be entered into a year
long raffle to win of the baits. A Phantom Wall bait will be given away at every one of the 2020 FRV meetings. If you are doing the math that is only 9 lures! The re-maining 6 baits will be given away to a 2nd winner at the December 2020 meeting. The number of tickets being printed will be limited to 250. Once they are gone, no more will be printed. So get yours soon and support FRV for the 2020 year.
