September 11th
club meeting
featuring

Niziol!
May 14th Cast
for a Cure at
Time to Bite!
Welcome back from our summer break fellow FRV members.
Hopefully you have had a successful summer full of great fish-
ing stories. Please bring those stories and yourself to our up-
coming meeting on September 11th.
Our upcoming meeting will feature Chauncey Niziol as our
guest speaker. You know Chauncey as the man behind and in
front of the weekly radio show Chauncey’s Great Outdoors
here in the Chicagoland area. His show can be heard on
AM670 the Score every Saturday morning from 6am to 7am.
This is a great opportunity for you meet him in person and to hear some of his very
entertaining stories. This will be a meeting that you will want to attend.
Please remember that the Cancer benefit tournament is right around the corner. A
sign up application and details are included in this newsletter. We need your sup-
port. The date is September 14th.
If you are still making plans for your fishing adventures during 2019, make sure
you check out outings. We still have room for the October Crivitz outing at
Poops and there is room at the Sucker Fest outing in November. We would love to
have you join. See me at this upcoming meeting.
Our Muskie stocking events will be coming up here soon in the fall. Look for an
email in the near future giving out details of when a where. FRV has a record
amount of funds available for stocking here in 2019 and are hoping to stick over
4,000 fish into the Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin lakes.
Lastly, we are always looking for new board members. If you are interested in
getting involved, please see me at an upcoming meeting.
I hope to see you all at the September meeting.

YOUTH CORNER

THE YOUTH CORNER!!!THE YOUTH CORNER!!!
Well summer is winding down, I hope all of you had a great summer, I know I did. Spent
lots of time fishing with my son Robbie. We took 2 great fishing trips, one to Turtle Flam-
beau Flowage in Mercer, WI and another one to Lake Winnibigoshish in Bena, MN. Dur-
ing the Summer FRV also had 2 youth fishing events. On May 4, we took 13 kids out on
the Chain for a Take a Kid Fishing event. Kids had a blast and some fish were caught. One
kid even caught a small muskie that was probably one that we stocked, so our stock-
ing program is paying off. A special thanks to Kurt at Musky Tales for providing lunch.
The other event was on June 8th when FRV took 16 kids from One Hope United. Boy was
that a blast. One kid made a comment, "I did not catch a fish, but boy did I have
Fun". That is what it is all about. Neither of these events would not of been a success if it
was not for all the guides that volunteered their time and boat. So a very BIG thanks goes
out to them!!!!!!!! In September, FRV is sponsoring 6 kids to go to Hayward for the YCA
Youth Muskie Hunt on Moose lake. They will be fishing starting at noon on the 19th and
fishing for 2 ½ days. There will be an awards presentation on Saturday evening and every-
one will be heading home on Sunday the 22nd. I know is the past, we have had some of our
kids bring home an award. Caleb came home with a nice trophy last year but a hole in
someone's’ net left him just short of being the overall winner. But fun was had by all. This
is an all expense paid trip for the kids. Meals, lodging, and guides will be provided to them
and their guardian. Only expense to them is their transportation to and from Hayward and the fishing License for the guardi-
an. Our winners are: Eric Bate (13), Caleb Lindemulder (11), Liam Vizanko (10), Tim Vendel (16), Conner Hazen (17), and
Robbie Henderson (11). Eric, Caleb, and Robbie are returning to the Youth Muskie Hunt and Liam, Conner, and Tim will be mak-
ing their first trip up there with us. We are looking at having a great time. All 6 winners will be attending our September meeting,
so please take the time to introduce yourself to them and maybe give them some pointers. Enjoy your time on the water and see
you at our September meeting.

MEMBERSHIP CORNER P A G E 6

FROM THE MEMBERSHIP CORNER… FROM THE MEMBERSHIP CORNER…
On September 11th monthly meetings resume. The guest speaker will be Steve Sarley. Steve has been
the host of several radio and TV shows, such as the Outdoors Experience, CLTV’s Great Outdoors.
Steve presentation is not to be missed, so please makes plans to attend, invite a friend to come along to
the meeting. I hope some of you took advantage of the Clubs Outings or spend quality time fishing dur-
ing the past two months, because we would like you to share your stories with us at the meeting, espe-
cially funny events or a big fish story. The Fox Chain was a mixed bag the past two months. We had
heavy rains resulting in no-wake periods and very hot days, which resulted in warm water temps (not good for Muskie fishing).
Global Warming, Hard to say! These conditions are especially hard on recreational boaters and businesses cratering to them. For-
tunately we can still get out drive slowly to a shaded spot and fish. OK, now down to business many members during the summer
months forget to renew their membership. No newsletters or meetings to remind you. Well, I will be at the Membership Table to
assist you. If in doubt see me I have the records. If you take the time to renew at the meeting, you will receive a Top-Water lure or
a FRV mug. People, attendance at meetings and keeping your membership in good standing are our live blood. So get away from
the TV, come to the meeting, have a beer, by raffle tickets, talk to your fellow fishermen and have a good time!

YCA EVENT ON MOOSE LAKE HAYWARD, WI
SEPT 19TH-22ND!!!
The program is lead by Kevin Bushnick, Founder & Chair-man of the Youth Conservation Alliance, a charity purpose-built to teach youth environmental education through fish-ing and hunting programs. The YCA is 100% Youth & Family focused organization. The event was also spon-sored by Muskies Inc., and in large part by Fox River Val-ley Muskies Chapter-39 who provided many of the fishing guides needed to put the kids onto the fish! George Selcke and the Hugh C. Becker Foundation. We also had re-nowned Muskie fishing expert Dave VanDoorn (DVD we call him) from Take-A-Vet-Fishing present to fish with one of our Nations special veterans and his daughter. Well known Hayward area guides John Myhre and Daryl Neibauer also participated. "While the event is expensive, the most important aspect of this program is the volunteer guides who travel in some cases 800 miles at their own expense plus their vacation time to take someone else's kid out fishing." This is extraordinary Bushnick states. For 2.5 days leading into Hayward's beautiful Fall season, over 60 kids (boys & girls ages 6-17) and their families participate in a Youth Muskie Hunt on Moose Lake in Hayward Wisconsin. This event now in its 10th year, was the largest program in the YCA's history with 120 people participating. "The kids ended up catching (and releasing) an astonishing 70 Muskies in just 2.5 days" Bushnick said.
