Pastor Mark BryantApril will certainly be a time of great celebration. April 8th will be a day to be remembered as we gather to declare the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul writes about the saving work of Jesus on the cross when he says, “For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness of deity to dwell in Him and through Him (Jesus) to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.”

In the same letter, we are reminded of everything that Jesus has done for us in His death and resurrection. Colossians 1:13-14 says, “For He (The Father) rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” As we read more of the message of God’s word, we are told that Jesus is now our Great High Priest. He is currently seated with the Father in heaven and He makes intercession on behalf of all who follow Him.

To be honest, it is almost impossible to understand how Jesus has impacted our lives through His sacrificial death and His glorious resurrection. In Christ Jesus, we have been granted forgiveness and have been justified by the blood of His sacrifice! In Christ Jesus we have unhindered access to the throne of the Father. Through Jesus, we have the power and presence of the Holy Spirit abiding in our hearts, enabling us to experience life the way God intended it to be lived. As followers of Jesus, we are blessed to know God and more importantly to be known by God!

As we prepare to worship Him on Easter Sunday I pray that we will all take the time to reflect on just how blessed we are to know Him. We will celebrate His resurrection on that morning and that night we will remember the significance of His death as we take the Lord’s Supper together. Please make it a priority to worship with all who have been set free from the penalty of sin and released to live abundant and meaningful life. Be blessed, Pastor Mark
