Rick Smith of Underworld has written and recorded the original score for Trance, Danny Boyles first film since 2010s 127 Hours, and alsco-written a track, titled Here It Comes, with multi-Brit Award winner Emeli Sand. Smith worked with both Boyle and Sand in his role asMusical Director of the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony. Trance, the soundtrack album is released on 25 March by Universal anthe film opens in the UK on 27 March.

At times mellifluous and gorgeously atmospheric and at others frenetic and claustrophobic, Smiths eleven original pieces have been writtexclusively for the soundtrack and come sequenced alongside familiar tracks specifically chosen by Boyle and Smith for use in key momenin the film (including music by Moby, Unkle and M People).

of artistic freedom, he loves to be surprised, and also wants his film music loud and with presence, almost like another character - for methis is creatively exciting and inspiring. And it was a real joy to work with Emeli again her passionate soulful voice and wonderful lyrics aa perfect ingredient of the score.

Danny Boyle said: TRANCE reaches back to the darker more anarchic spirit of films like TRAINSPOTTING on which Rick was a keycollaborator. The film is a puzzle of the protagonist's own making and Ricks music brilliantly drives the interior landscape of thesecharacters as they try to solve it."

Emeli Sand said: It was wonderful to work with Rick again after the amazing time I had with him putting together the track for theOpening Ceremony at the Olympics. I was honoured to be asked to collaborate with him again for the film and, with his help, I believe wehave created something very special.Each of the tracks on Trance have been reworked and developed by Rick specifically for this soundtrack release in order to make the albuflow as an immersive listening experience rather than a series of short film cues. The result is like the film hypnotic, disorientating andutterly mesmerizing.

The Davidson Hart Kingsbery band formed in 2010

and shortly after were invited to serve as houseband for a series of underground 2-step parties.

Seattles Hart Kingsbery was born in Paris, Texas in

1979. His family moved around a lot before settling

in Washington State, raising Hart in a devout

religious environment where he sang hymns in

church, did 15 years of bible camp and graduated

from a religious college. After a bad early divorce,

he turned his back on the church, accepting

damnation as the payback for a life of barroom

debauchery, only to discover that the country songs

hed begun to write told stories of a different sort,

that of the damnation of affairs of the heart.

Charles Sullivan has always been highly regardedby his peers if a bit obscure to the general jazz-listening public. He started playing around New YorkCity in 1966, and worked with a diverse collection ofleaders including Sy Oliver, the Collective BlackArtists, Lionel Hampton, the J azz Composer's

Workshop, and Count Basie, as well as working thepit bands of several Broadway shows. This 1976album, available for the first time on CD, was his firsrelease as a leader using his own material. He is

After his last world tour with Louis XIV in the Spring of 2009,

frontman and producer Jason Hill converted an isolated 100 year

The Ocean Blues debut record (Sire Records) in 1989 achiev

widespread acclaim and radio & MTV airplay. The band of fou

young high schoolers from Hershey, Pennsylvania went on to

release two more well-received records for Sire, the atmosphe

Cerulean and alt pop Beneath the Rhythm and Sound, and a

fourth record for Mercury/PolyGram, See The Ocean Blue,

before leaving the majors in the late 90s. The band had sever

independent releases in the 2000s and within the last several

years began working on a new full length record, their first in

over 10 years. That record, Ultramarine, is scheduled for rele

on Korda Records, a new Minneapolis cooperative label that t

band helped launch in late 2012. Ultramarine is a spectacular

return to form that recalls the bands earliest work, and should

appeal to fans old and new alike.
