Friends and family gathered at BrimsGrove Baptist Church to celebrate

the 60th wedding anniversary of Clinardand Erlene Merritt on Dec. 5. Mr. and Mrs.Merritt, who reside in Pinnacle, were mar-ried Dec. 15, 1950.

The reception was given by theirdaughters, Robin Leake and husband,Mark, and Vicki Sheppard and husband,Sherman, all of Pilot Mountain.

The five grandchildren are Will(Christie) Sheppard, Pete Sheppard andgirlfriend Ashley Payne, Merritt Tuttle,Walt Tuttle, and Spence Tuttle. Their step-grandson is Daniel Leake. They have onegreat granddaughter, Anne RachelSheppard.

Mr. Merritt is retired from NorthCarolina Baptist Hospital, the accountingdepartment. Mrs. Merritt is retired fromthe former Amos and Smith HosieryCompany.

The reception was catered by Sue andRalph Cooke of Mount Airy.
