2 First Sunday of Advent November 29, 2015

THE COMING KINGDOM Jeremiah could see it coming--the kingship of Jesus and the restoration of Jerusalem. But was anybody listening? Is anybody listening now? It must have been tough being a prophet, but Jeremiah was persistent in his message because he knew that it needed to be heard. Also persistent in his message is Paul as he encourages the Thessalonians--and all of us--to live in accordance with the kingship that Jeremiah foretold. He encourages us to conduct ourselves in ways of holiness so that we may be well prepared for the king's coming. Finally, Jesus himself tells us to be ever diligent so that we may gain favor before our God and King. Jeremiah could see the kingship of Jesus coming. As we begin the season of Advent, Paul and Jesus tell us not only how to prepare for the Kingdom, but how to live it day to day.

Copyright (c) J. S. MASS FOR ANOINTING OF THE SICK WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2015, 11:00 A.M.

Through the apostle James, Jesus has commanded us: ‘Are there any who are sick among you? Let them send for the priests of the Church, and let the priests pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick persons, and the Lord will raise them up; and if they have committed any sins, their sins will be forgiven them’”

This administration of the sacrament of the sick is offered to those Catholics who are experiencing physical ailments of a serious nature: those who will be undergoing surgery for serious reasons, the elderly who have become notably weakened even though no serious illness is present, those who are battling serious illnesses and have not been anointed recently, and children who have reached the age of reason and are seriously ill. The community is called to offer prayers and support to those in need of our love and care.

RECEPTION FOLLOWING THE MASS: A reception immediately follows the Mass and everyone at the Mass is invited to attend. If you plan to attend the reception, please contact the office at 909-797-2533 to sign-up so that we can reserve a place for you at the reception.

This Christmas Season

we would like to offer families the opportunity to sponsor one or

more of the 100 poinsettias that will be displayed in the church during this Christmas season. Sponsors will be recognized and thanked in the bulletin. To sponsor a $10 poinsettia payment can be made at the church office or online under the heading “Liturgical Environment”. If you have further questions please contact Peggy in the church office; Thank you.

This Advent Season We would like to offer families the opportunity to sponsor the church and daily chapel advent wreaths for four weeks of advent. Sponsors will be recognized and thanked in the bulletin. This is a beautiful way to remember a loved one or honor a

special occasion for your family while giving back to our church community. Payment can be made at the church office or online, under the heading “Liturgical Environment”. please contact Peggy in the church office if you have any questions.

We also need individuals, couples and families to process in the Advent Candle each week at every Mass. Please arrive 20 minutes early and let Fr. Santos or the Deacons know if you would like to process in the candle. You can even schedule with us the week before!!

Cabrini Festival Update Final numbers are now complete for the Cabrini Festival. The good news is that we cleared more in profit this year versus the previous two years. In order to follow the tax guidelines for religious non-profit organizations, our profit is divided into the three areas of raffle, bingo and overall festival. The profit in each of these areas is:

Festival: $9,922.43 Raffle: $8,511.75 Bingo: $822.50

Together these three areas combined bring us a total of $19,256.68 in profit. Thanks to everyone for attending. Even though there were some struggles with the ride company and the weather, the overall profit was still up. A special word of thanks to all who assisted in any way with the festival and especially the core committee including: Don Averill, Don Chambers, Melanie Joyce, Kim and Mike Figueredo, Mark Nolte, Nancy Garcia, Angie Dark, Michael Gross, Leonard Cesene, Susan Marco, Gabby Gonzales, Lisa Cox, David Lopez, Enrique Lima, Valentine Lozano, Several Ministries, many other volunteers and the parish ministry staff.
