• Welcome• Pastoral Plan Background• Pastoral Plan Presentation• What’s Next – Your Role• Q & A
History
• 1991 – in response to Pope John Paul II’s call to prepare for the 3 Millennium
• Nine Year Archdiocesan-wide renewal plan; Catholic Faith and Life 2000– Involve every parish organization– Involve every individual– Established the requirement for each parish to develop
an advisory board (Parish Council) to offer input, ideas and reflect the community.
– The Parish’s Voice to the Pastor
Background
• 1998-2000: Saint Bede’s first comprehensive self study was complete and the very first Pastoral Plan for this parish began to take shape.
• 2006: Monsignor John C. Marine, is made Pastor of Saint Bede the Venerable Parish
• 2009: Under Monsignor’s direction the Council begins to review the existing Pastoral Plan
Result
• The Parish Council recognizes that many goals which were originally established, which seemed so far reaching at the time, had in fact, been completed or accomplished.– Adoration Chapel, Community Center, Establishing
a Youth Ministry…• As with any effective plan or strategy, the
need to review, revise and re-engage is vital
The Process
• With the dedication and inspiration of our current Pastoral Council, a journey that began some 20 months ago, has brought us to this very day.
The Process
• Values• Vision• Mission• Goals• Action Plan
