Pastor’s Corner

Can you imagine the former St.

Joseph Church on southside packed with people? It was standing room only. There were two bishops and over 25 priests concelebrating the inaugural mass and blessing of the Divine Mercy Healing Center. The combined ceremonies and presentations extended over 3 hours. The Church is now being used by a congregation known as the Vincentians who originate from Kerela, India. They are part of the Syro-Malabar rite of the Catholic Church. Their specific ministry is the Divine Mercy Healing Center. They provide days of reflection and retreats in English, Spanish and Malayalam (India). Preaching the word of God, they continue the mission to help people encounter the living God in Jesus Christ. More information can be found on http://divinenj.org We pray that their presence will enrich our Church and our community with the healing power of God.

I would like to congratulate Mr. Michael Seksinsky and Mr. Jason Horn. Our parish council had two open positions and two candidates. Therefore, we did not need to have an election this year. Thank you for your willingness to serve the parish. We look forward to your participation in the parish council.

Lastly, I don’t want to forget our mothers. Happy Mothers’ Day today. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to your children (no matter their age ). However, this day can be painful for some who have lost their mothers or those who have a difficult relationship with their mother. This day we pray for our mothers – living and deceased. May the Lord bless them and give them peace!

“If God so loved us, we also must love one another… Yet, if we love one another, God remains in us, and his love is brought to perfection in us.” Have a great week! Fr. Keith

Every child is taught the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory Be when they are young. But the

Church has a treasury of prayers from her tradition. Each month we would like to highlight a specific prayer and invite you to pray it each day or even to memorize it where it will be secure within

your memory.

Prayer For the month of May Memorare

Remember, O most

gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy

protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left

unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee,

O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of

the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and

answer me.

Amen.

acudido a vuestra protección, implorando tu auxilio, haya

Vos. Madre de Dios, no desechéis

mis súplicas, antes bien, escuchadlas y acogedlas benignamente.

Amén.
