CROCHET
WRIST &
HEADBAND BA RBA RA SU MME RS WWW .CRO CKNI T . C O M
Here is a perfect heart wrist and headband pattern -
quick and easy.
Basic stitches: Half double crochet, Picot edge.
Yarn: Patons 100% Cotton DK
Hook: 3mm
Gauge: not so important, but I recommend using a
hook half to one size smaller than recommended on
yarn label.
Measurements: will vary depending on yarn and hook
size. Aim for easy fit, this stitch will stretch and cotton
yarn does relax with wear (my wrist measures= 16cms, pink
wristband measures 16.5cm without picot edging)
Terminology: US crochet terms, metric hook sizes.
Abbreviations:
Ch = chain; hdc – half double crochet; BL = back loop;
sl st = slip stitch; beg = beginning, sp = space, st/sts =
stitch/stitches.
WRISTBAND PATTERN: Row 1: Ch12, into 3rd ch from hook, *hdc into BL,
repeat from * to end, turn. (10dc)
Row 2: Ch2, hdc into BL of each and every st to end,
turn.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2, 21 times, or until required
length is reached. Do not turn and do not cut yarn.
Picot Edging:
Continue along length of band as follows:
Ch4, sl st into 2nd st from hook, ch2, sl st into edge 3
rows along, *ch4, sl st into 2nd st from hook, ch 2, sl st
into edge 2 rows along, repeat from * to end, with last
sl st into foundation ch.
Buttonholes:
Ch4 Picot for large buttons; Ch3 Picot for small
buttons. Instructions for Ch3 Picot follow.
Ch3, sl st into 2nd ch from hook, ch2, skip 4sts, sl st into
foundation ch, ch3, sl st into 2nd ch from hook, ch2,
