Here is a perfect heart wrist and headband pattern -

quick and easy.

Basic stitches: Half double crochet, Picot edge.

Yarn: Patons 100% Cotton DK

Hook: 3mm

Gauge: not so important, but I recommend using a

hook half to one size smaller than recommended on

yarn label.

Measurements: will vary depending on yarn and hook

size. Aim for easy fit, this stitch will stretch and cotton

yarn does relax with wear (my wrist measures= 16cms, pink

wristband measures 16.5cm without picot edging)

Terminology: US crochet terms, metric hook sizes.

Abbreviations:

Ch = chain; hdc – half double crochet; BL = back loop;

sl st = slip stitch; beg = beginning, sp = space, st/sts =

stitch/stitches.

WRISTBAND PATTERN: Row 1: Ch12, into 3rd ch from hook, *hdc into BL,

repeat from * to end, turn. (10dc)

Row 2: Ch2, hdc into BL of each and every st to end,

turn.

Row 3: Repeat Row 2, 21 times, or until required

length is reached. Do not turn and do not cut yarn.

Picot Edging:

Continue along length of band as follows:

Ch4, sl st into 2nd st from hook, ch2, sl st into edge 3

rows along, *ch4, sl st into 2nd st from hook, ch 2, sl st

into edge 2 rows along, repeat from * to end, with last

sl st into foundation ch.

Buttonholes:

Ch4 Picot for large buttons; Ch3 Picot for small

buttons. Instructions for Ch3 Picot follow.

Ch3, sl st into 2nd ch from hook, ch2, skip 4sts, sl st into

foundation ch, ch3, sl st into 2nd ch from hook, ch2,

skip 4sts, sl st into last st.

Continue along length of band with Picot edging as

before, finishing in last st of corner.

Finish, cut yarn and hide ends OR leave a long tail for

sewing on buttons. With needle weave yarn to point

of button attachment.

Select your buttons and sew to band, lining up with

buttonholes.

Embellish your wrist band with the perfect heart or

whatever takes your fancy!

HEADBAND PATTERN

Yarn: Patons 100% Cotton DK

Hook: 3.5mm

Measurements: 48cms (without picot edging)

Row 1: Ch15, into 3rd ch from hook, *hdc into BL,

repeat from * to end, turn. (13dc)

Row 2: Ch2, hdc into BL of each and every st to end,

turn.

Row 3: Repeat Row 2, 53 times, or until required

length is reached. Do not turn and do not cut yarn.

Picot Edging:

Continue along length of band as follows:

Ch4, sl st into 2nd st from hook, ch2, sl st into edge 3

rows along, *ch4, sl st into 2nd st from hook, ch 2, sl st

into edge 2 rows along, repeat from * to end, with last

sl st into foundation ch.

Continue along width of band as follows:

Ch4, sl st into 2nd ch from hook, ch2, skip 3sts, sl st into

next st, ch4, sl st into 2nd ch from hook, ch2, skip 4sts,

sl st into next st, ch4, sl st into 2nd ch from hook, ch2,

skip 3sts, sl st into last st.

Continue with picot edging repeating along length

and width of band with edging as before, finishing in

last st of corner.

Finish, cut yarn and hide ends.

Adjustable drawstring:

With same hook and yarn make a chain of 100 ch.

Cut and hide ends.

Thread drawstring through loops loosely, and tie.

Embellish your headband with perfect hearts or

whatever takes your fancy!
