ASP is hiring a Merchandise Intern for this summer! Based out of our Johnson City office, this person will

be responsible for tracking and distributing inventory across a 5 state area, communicating with multiple

parties, and creating systems of efficiency for timely and accurate distribution. Additional

responsibilities are as follows:

Inventory Control

• Arrange pre-packed boxes with initial inventory to go out with each center on load up day

• Arrange larger pre-packed boxes that will go out with each Hub manager

• Train summer staff in Jonesville on new system for tracking merchandise inventory

• Follow up on inventory each week to see what centers have, what centers need, and who

still needs to enter information for the week

• Track sales via Finance accelerator and compare with inventory form to ensure accuracy

• Create plan to have staffs enter inventory and pack up all remaining inventory at the end of

the summer

Distribution

• Ensure that each summer Hub is stocked with enough merchandise to fulfill orders from

center for more inventory

• Check in with Hubs each week to find out how distribution is going

• Make runs to centers for emergency merchandise needs (large orders, incorrect orders, etc)

• Coordinate distribution with Ministries for efficiencies sake when needed

Communication

• Work closely with Lake Pointe to check on online orders, inventory, and make new orders

when necessary

• Report on sales and highest sellers each week in the Blue Foam

• Communicate issues and needs with the Ministries department to be addressed with

Program Managers who oversee the staff

• Communicate with volunteers/customers who have questions about merchandise or

problems with their order

• Work with social media manager to promote merchandise on Facebook, twitter, Instagram,

and more

• Train summer staff to display summer merchandise in centers and ensure PM’s follow up on

this display to ensure it’s visible to all volunteers

Position Purpose:

The primary purpose for this position is to maximize the sale of lottery tickets through effective account

management for established and prospective retailers.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

A local veteran is seeking an individual to transcribe his handwritten memoirs and personal stories into

book format.

Virgil Peters is a 93-year-old WWII veteran who saw the flag raise on Iwo Jima. He has notebooks of his

experiences and many photos from WWII. Mr. Peters has also raised award-winning TN Walking Horses,

and he is the TN state champion. Mr. Peters has led a remarkable life and has been featured in the

Kingsport Times News because of his incredible history.
