  • Day to day VRV jobs • Super quick selection tool for VRV systems • Supporting tool for sales people • Fully automated piping and wiring diagram • Size < 3MB means e-mail able • User friendly and self explanatory selection tool

  • No setup or installation is required. Double click the file VRV

Xpress.exe and all necessary settings are done. • The software makes a shortcut on your taskbar in Start > Programs >

Daikin > VRV Xpress • The extension of the software is *.vrv. Double clicking a saved file will

automatically start the VRV Xpress.exe software.

The logical steps in the VRV Xpress are:

1. Add indoor units to a list (Indoor units tab page) 2. Connect indoor units to outdoor units (Outdoor units tab page) 3. Make changes to the piping diagram (Piping tab page) 4. Make changes to the wiring diagram (Wiring tab page) 5. Define the centralised controllers (Centralised controller tab page) 6. Make a report (Reports tab page)

Indoor units not yet attached

This list gives an overview of indoor units not yet attached to an outdoor unit

Add an outdoor unit (see chapter 5.1 Add an outdoor unit for further details)

Edit the selected item in the tree view. The item can be: - an indoor unit - a BS Box - an outdoor unit

Delete the selected item in the tree view. The item can be:

- an indoor unit - a BS Box - an outdoor unit

Note 1. If you delete an outdoor unit with connected indoor

units results in indoor units being moved to the ‘Indoor units not yet attached’ list.

2. The same applies when deleting a BS Box.

5.1 Add an outdoor unit

When clicking the ‘Add an outdoor unit’ button ( ) the below screen appears:

Name Name of the outdoor unit (e.g. Outdoor SE, OU NW,

Enter the design outdoor temperature for cooling.

Heating outdoor temperature

Enter the design outdoor temperature for heating

Available capacities Cooling

The available cooling capacity of the outdoor unit.

Available capacities Heating

The available heating capacity of the outdoor unit. Note: The calculation takes into account the freeze up correction factor.

(Optional) piping length

You can enter the piping length between the outdoor unit and the indoor unit most far away from the outdoor unit. The software will recalculate the capacities of the indoor units taken into account the capacity correction factor. Note: If you do not want to take into account piping correction factors you just enter ‘0’ as length!

Click this button to select options for the selected outdoor unit.

5.1.1 Selecting a heat pump/cooling only VRV outdoor unit Follow these steps to attach indoor units to the outdoor unit:

1. Highlight the indoor unit that has to be connected to the outdoor unit 2. Drag the indoor unit (= select the indoor unit and hold down the left

mouse button) and drop the indoor unit on the outdoor unit (= while holding down the left mouse button and keep the indoor unit selected you have to move to the outdoor unit).

Note: You can also first multiple select the indoor units that have to be connected to an outdoor unit (= while holding down the shift/ctrl key you select the indoor units). Afterwards you drag and drop the selected indoor units to the outdoor unit. Note: Deselecting an indoor unit from the outdoor unit works in the same way as selecting indoor units, but now you have to move indoor units away from the outdoor unit and drop them into the ‘Available indoor units’ list.

5.1.2 Selecting a heat recovery VRV outdoor unit The difference between a heat pump and a heat recovery unit is the use of BS Boxes. Once you selected heat recovery as outdoor unit family an additional button will appear on your screen:

Follow these steps to add a BX Box:
