LITURGY CORNER Lamb of God “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.” Those words were spoken over 2,000 years ago by John the Baptist when he saw Jesus coming toward him. Today, those words are repeated in the sacred liturgy as the priest elevates the Eucharist. Their meaning and signicance has not changed. John spoke them when Our Lord was right there in front of him. He is pointing out the Lamb of God right there in the midst of the people. We boldly speak those words today because we believe that Christ is truly present in our midst in the Eucharist and that, by means of this Blessed Sacrament, He oers a remedy for sins. TODAY'S READINGS READINGS FOR THE WEEK

Thank you from your Parish St. Vincent de Paul Conference

The St. Vincent de Paul Conference thanks our parishioners for your very generous donations to our Thanksgiving food programs and our Christmas giving tree. Approximately 120 Thanksgiving food baskets were prepared from your contributions of groceries and money. The St. Barnabas Conference in Alameda did about 45 baskets; the St. Patrick Conference in West Oakland made about 75 baskets. Also, we partnered with the Parish Outreach Ministry to prepare and deliver about 80 Thanksgiving meals to seniors and shut-ins in Alameda. Many parishioner volunteers helped with the preparation and deliv-ery. Your offerings of clothes to the St. Albert’s giving tree allowed the St. Vincent de Paul Family Visita-tion Center in Oakland to provide Christmas gifts to more than 50 families. The St. Vincent de Paul Society greatly appreciates your charity. Most importantly, your kindness has made Thanksgiving and Christmas happier and more joyful for people less fortunate.
