Jesus said, “Follow me.” This is a call to all Christians! The call is in the here and now, in our present circumstances, not when we think we are “ready” or have everything in order.

Good stewardship of our God-given gifts means that things aren’t always going to go according to our schedule and that God has a much better plan in store for each of us.

John 1:35-42 “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Mark 1:17

We are created by God, in His image and like-

ness. Our Catholic faith believes and teaches that

life begins and must be protected from conception

until natural death. Sadly, since the Supreme

Court decision of Roe v. Wade, abortion is legal

at all stages of pregnancy. Sunday, January 22nd,

is the 45th anniversary of that dreadful decision.

Sixty million innocent lives have been lost to

abortion. Let us give thanks to God for His pre-

cious gift of life and pray for the conversion of

hearts to respect all life.

Psalm 139:13-14 You created my inmost being; You knit me to-gether in my mother’s womb. I praise you be-

cause I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Prayer for Respect of Life - O Lord, our God, Father Almighty, with great love you have created me. You accept and cherish all beings, the little no less than the great. You love Your creation from the newly conceived to the elderly and frail. Please give to me, and to all people, Your very own love, acceptance, and gratitude for those to whom You have given life. Raise up men and women to defend life and to proclaim the sanctity of all that You have created. Use me to help as You see fit. Please raise up in government and society, leaders who will protect life and stand with us. We unite ourselves with the prayers of Mary Immaculate, Your mother. We pray through Christ the Lord Amen.

Bible study 1/29 after the Monday evening Mass in social hall.

A Time of Prayerful Remembrance & Intercession - St. Philip Neri will be offering a Time of Prayerful Remembrance and Interces-sion as our nation marks the 45th Anniversary of the Roe v. Wade abortion decision on Sun., Jan. 21st at 3 PM. This is a time for our parish to gather in prayer and intercession on behalf of our nation, seeking forgiveness and healing in God's merciful love. The hidden wounds of abortion affect each of us either directly or indirectly. The holy hour will include the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Eucharistic Ado-ration, and a time for quiet personal prayer.

Day of Fasting and Prayer - The US Bishops have asked that we make Mon., Jan. 22nd a day of prayer and fasting for the sanctity of human life.

2017 Tax info will be mailed out next week to par ishioners. If you don’t receive yours by the end of January, call the office at 754-2860.

Right now, pilgrims from the Diocese of Fargo are in DC attending the March for Life. Please keep them in your prayers. Jan. 22nd, 1973 is the infamous day when the U.S. Supreme Court made the Roe. Vs. Wade decision that legalized abortion. That was 45 years ago and mil-lions of innocent lives have been lost! We are fighting for a culture of life and making progress through prayer, education, and vigilance to change hearts and minds. Monday Jan. 22nd is a day of prayer and fasting. Please pray that Roe v. Wade will one day be overturned.

Wonderful News! Thank you to our new adorers! The St. Philip Adoration Committee would like to thank all who inquired about ad-oration last weekend at our parish. We are happy to announce that we have: 10 new adorers who signed up for a new time slot, 4 others who have opted to take a second time slot, and 1 new sub.

Blessing of Candles – On Friday, Feb. 2nd, we cele-brate the feast of the Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple. This feast takes place 40 days after Christ-mas. Traditionally, the church blesses many of the can-dles that are used for various liturgies during the year. If you would like any of your candles blessed that day, please bring them to Mass that morning with you.

Used palms will be collected in the entrance and burned to make ashes for Ash Wednesday which is Feb. 14th this year.
