How o en in our lives do we forget the true roll we play in the lives of our children, grandchildren, family and friends. I know we don’t think about “shepherding” and that is who we are in their lives. This is our calling yet so o en we take the easy way out. For instance how we are in front of the TV, computer and our phones. This is the quote from last week’s homily. The TV is my shepherd, I shall not want. It makes me to lie down on the sofa. It leads me away from my faith, it destroys my soul. It leads me to the path of laziness, sex and violence for the sake of entertainment and adver sers. Even though I walk in the shadow of Chris an responsibili es, there will be no interrup on, for the TV is with me. Its cable and remote control, comfort me. It prepares a commercial for me in the midst of my worldliness and anoints my head with secular humanism and consumerism. My covetousness runs over; surely ignorance and laziness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of wretchedness watching TV forever. May you remember to avoid the TV for at least a few minutes to say a rosary, an act of contri on and just have silence for a few moments once a day.

Anyone needing to complete their sacraments please contact the parish office and we will assist you in receiving all your sacraments.

In September, I will be star ng a new program for those Adults interested in learning more about the Roman Catholic Church. We will learn about Prayer, the Church Fathers, About the Church’s Teaching on Ethics and Morality, and select teachings from the saints.

¿Con qué frecuencia en nuestras vidas nos olvidamos el verdadero rollo que desempeñamos en la vida de nuestros hijos, nietos, familiares y amigos. Sé que no pensamos en "pastoreo" y eso es lo que somos en sus vidas. Este es nuestro llamado y tan a menudo tomamos el camino más fácil. Por ejemplo de cómo estamos en frente de la televisión, la computadora y nuestros teléfonos.

Esta es la cita de la homilía de la semana pasada. La televisión es mi pastor, nada me falta. Me hace que me acueste en el sofá. Me lleva lejos de mi fe, destruye mi alma. Me lleva al camino de la pereza, el sexo y la violencia por el bien de entretenimiento y anunciantes. Aunque ande en la sombra de las responsabilidades Cris anas, no habrá interrupción, porque la televisión está conmigo. Su cable y control remoto, me consuela. Se prepara un anuncio para mí en medio de mi mundanidad y unge mi cabeza con el humanismo secular y el consumismo. Mi codicia atropella; sin duda la ignorancia y la pereza me seguirán todos los días de mi vida y yo habitaré en la casa de la miseria viendo la televisión para siempre. Puede recordar de evitar el televisor por lo menos durante unos minutos para rezar un rosario, un acto de contrición y sólo tener silencio por unos momentos una vez al día.

Atención hermanos y hermanas: Para ayudarme a ser el Pastor por favor anime a sus amigos y miembros de la familia que son Adultos para recibir los sacramentos que hayan perdido o para unirse a la Iglesia Católica. Cualquier persona que necesite completar sus sacramentos por favor póngase en contacto con la oficina parroquial y le ayudaremos a recibir todos sus sacramentos.

En sep embre, voy a estar empezando un nuevo programa para los adultos interesados en aprender más acerca de la Iglesia Católica Romana. Vamos a aprender acerca de la oración, los Padres de la Iglesia, sobre la enseñanza de la Iglesia sobre la é ca y la moralidad, y seleccionar las enseñanzas de los santos.
