In addition to English, and Spanish this Sacrament may also be in Italian.

•WEDDINGS/ MATRIMONIO Pre–marital instruction is a requirement for all engaged couples. Consequently, arrangements for weddings should be made SIX MONTHS in advance.

TWENTY - THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME SEPTEMBER 6, 2015 VIGÉSIMO TERCER DOMINGO EN TIEMPO ORDINARIO 6 DE SEPTIEMBRE, 2015 VENTITREESIMA DOMENICA DEL TEMPO ORDINARIO 6 DI SETTEMBRE, 2015

He took him off by himself away from the crowd. He put his finger into the man’s ears, and spitting, touched his tongue, then he looked up to heaven and groaned and said to him ‘Ephphatha’ that is ‘Be opened.’ And immediately the man’s ears were opened, his speech impediment was removed, and he spoke plainly…They

were exceedingly astonished and they said ‘He has done all things well.’” We can make a list of the miracles of Jesus. Some were cures from a distance, some taking one by the hand, some by a spoken word. Today we find touch, saliva, a groan and a word. We do not learn how the man reacted, but the people, ordered told to remain quiet, told the story. Each one of us, at our baptism, found the minister touching our ears and tongue and told; As Jesus made the deaf to hear and dumb to speak, so may He open your ears to hear His word and your mouth to proclaim His praise.’ We were told that we, in the words of Pope Francis, are to be ‘Missionary Disciples.’ We have encountered Christ, turned to Him, accepted His teaching, and now are sent to live out that baptismal mandate. Though the man who was cured was anonymous, we are to tell others that He has done all things well. “Jesús lo separó de la multitud y, llevándolo aparte, le puso los dedos en las orejas y con su saliva le tocó la lengua. Después, levantando los ojos al cielo, suspiró y dijo: ‘Efatá’, que significa: ‘Abrete’. Y enseguida se abrieron sus oídos, se le soltó la lengua y comenzó a hablar normalmente. en el colmo de la admiración, decían: ‘Todo lo ha hecho bien: hace oír a los sordos y hablar a los mudos.’” Podemos hacer una lista de los milagros de Jesús. Algunas fueron curaciones a distancia, algunas al tacto, otras de palabra. Hoy encontramos toque, saliva, suspiro y una palabra. No sabemos cómo reaccionó el hombre, pero el resto de la gente, a quienes se les instruyó que callaran, contaron el milagro. Durante nuestro bautismo, el ministro nos tocó las orejas y lengua a cada uno de nosotros y nos dijo: Así como hizo oir a los sordos y hablar a los mudos, que El también abra tus oídos para escuchar Su palabra y tu boca para proclamar Su gloria’. Se nos dice en palabras del Papa Francisco que debemos ser ‘Discípulos Misioneros’. Hemos encontrado a Cristo, nos hemos volcado hacia El, aceptado Sus enseñanzas, y ahora somos enviados a vivir ese mandato bautismal. Aunque el hombre curado era un desconocido, debemos anunciar a otros que El todo lo ha hecho bien.

Un sordomuto. Assomiglia molto a noi, quando siamo nel peccato. Possiamo avere accanto Dio, che ci sussurra le parole più dolci e imperiose. Non lo sentiamo. Possiamo aver vicino le persone più acute e più buone, che desiderano aiutarci. Non prestiamo attenzione. O passiamo davanti a chi ha bisogno di un conforto, di una

speranza. È come se fossimo soli al mondo, chiusi nel nostro egoismo. Ma se il sacramento di Cristo ci raggiunge... Può essere la Chiesa che battezza o ci offre il perdono a nome del Signore Gesù. Le dita, la saliva, l’“apriti” possono essere l’acqua o la mano benedicente che si leva su di noi: “Io ti battezzo”; “Io ti assolvo”. Allora avviene nuovamente il “miracolo”. Diventiamo capaci, per grazia, di udire le consolazioni e i suggerimenti e gli imperativi di Dio. Diventiamo capaci di rispondergli con la preghiera e con la vita. E il prossimo è colui che dev’essere ascoltato e confortato. Nasce la fraternità. Se ci lasciamo salvare dal Signore. Se aderiamo a lui con tutte le forze.

BAPTISM INFORMATION The Sacrament of Baptism is Celebrated

Once a month on Sunday One Sunday in Spanish after the 12:30pm Mass

and One Sunday in English at 2:00PM.

THE NEXT AVAILABLE DATES ARE:

October 18th — English Baptisms October 25th — Spanish Baptisms

Please come to the office rectory for requirements and registration at least one month in advance.

PASTORAL VISIT OF HIS HOLINESS, POPE FRANCIS

Pope Francis will be in New York September 24th-26th.

Please check out the website: www.popefrancisnyc.org for his schedule and

other exciting information about his visit. Our parishes will be allocated a very small amount of tickets to the Mass at Madison Square Garden,

we do not have any further details right now .

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED The parish is in need of young adults to help us educate our youth in the

faith . If you are interested in volunteering in exchange for COMMUNITY HOURS to help assist

in the Parish Religious Education Program beginning in September, you may contact the

parish office or come in person to sign up.

después de la misa de 12:30pm y los bautizos en Ingles a las 2:00pm.
