FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (FDP) On STATISTICS FOR BUSINESS RESEARCH & SPSS APPLICATIONS 20 th -25 th January 2020 Organized by School of Management, NIT Warangal in association with E & ICT Academy, NIT Warangal (Sponsored by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), GOI Preamble "Electronics & ICT Academy" was set up at NIT Warangal with fi- nancial assistance from MeitY, GoI. The jurisdiction of this academy is Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa, Puducherry and An- daman & Nicobar Islands. This academy role is to offer faculty devel- opment programmes in standardized courses and emerging areas of Electronics, Information Communication Technologies, training & consultancy services for Industry, Curriculum development for Indus- try, CEP for working professionals, Advice and support for technical incubation and entrepreneurial activities. Major Course Contents: Research Methodology and Statistical Techniques Understanding of data and its Patterns Role of Business Statistics in Business Analysis Business Modeling using SPSS Business Case Studies using R Tools Speakers of this programme: The programme will be conducted by the faculty members from NIT Warangal; Academicians in the concerned field from IIMs/IITs/ NITs/Central funded Institutes are invited to deliver lectures in the programme. Speakers from industries are also expected to deliver as part of the course. Eligibility: The programme is opened to the faculty of MBA, Engineering Col- leges, MCA Colleges and other allied disciplines in India. Industry personnel working in the concerned /allied discipline can also attend. It is also mandatory to send scanned application form and demand draft through email [email protected] selection will be intimated only through mail. Program dura- tion is 6 (six) working days. Selection Criteria: Selection will be done based on first-come-first-serve basis to a maximum number of 50 (fifty). Additionally 10 partici- pants from industry are allowed to participate. The list of selected participants will be intimated through e-mail. In case a candidate is not selected, the DD will be sent back. Candi- dates will be issued satisfactory certificates on successful completion of the course. Reservations are followed for se- lecting candidates as per GOI norms. Important dates: About the Institute & School of Management: National Institute of Technology, Warangal is the first among 17 RECs setup as joint venture of the Government of India and the state government. Over the years the college has estab- lished itself as a premier Institute imparting technical educa- tion of a very high standard leading to the B.Tech degrees in various branches of engineering, M.Tech. MCA, MBA and Ph.D programs in various specializations. All B.Tech and PG programmes of NIT Warangal are NBA accredited. About School of Management: Recognizing the need of techno-management, the institute has designed a comprehensive MBA program exclusively for engi- neers. Thus came into light the Centre for Management Stud- ies, now “School of Management (SOM)” at NIT Warangal in 2000. The MBA Program offered by the School of Manage- ment is exclusively for Engineering Graduates. It is a two years course that runs into 8 quarters. The School of Management provides a well- balanced combination of academic and practi- cal business oriented content. The updated curriculum with its wide range of video materials, databases like Prowess, case studies, research projects and other tools aim at enhancing the understanding of the business reality and also imbibing prob- lem solving skills. The school has been accredited by Tata Consultancy Services and has good placement record.
