Kidz Meadow Childcare @ Yishun Term 3, 2017 Newsletter

There is no greater satisfaction than watching every child thrives in their

development. The third term has been a remarkable term. The children enjoyed

themselves very much as we went on fieldtrips and participated in centre events.

Racial Harmony Day and National Day were celebrated joyously to reflect on

Singapore’s success as a racially harmonious nation and society built on a rich

diversity of culture and heritage.

Our sincerest thanks to North View Primary School who had given our children

the opportunity to familiarise with the primary school settings. I would like to wish

the K2 children all the best in their Primary School journey and don’t forget your

friends and teachers in Kidz Meadow! Not forgetting, Chong Pang CC who

invited us for the second year to participate in an event. This time, it’s for ‘Bulan

Bahasa’.

Lastly, thank you to our Kidz Meadow Parent Support Group (PSG) who shares

the common goal of growth through learning, teamwork and perseverance. We

hope to collaborate more with our parents for the future events.

Trip to Singapore Zoo!

On our trip to Singapore Zoo, we

spotted lots of Wild African animals.

We learned a lot about lions, giraffes,

zebras, warthogs and more! We even

saw a peacock walking around!

Selamat Hari Raya from KMY!

During our Hari Raya Celebration, we played games related

to the festival and performed dances of popular Hari Raya

songs. Our supportive parents participated in the dress-up

game and won prizes. At the end of the celebration, we

received our favourite…green packets! Yay!

It’s Racial Harmony Day!

We had a great time performing different ethnic dance moves

and hopping over station to station with fun activities. We

were dressed to the nines in our ethnic costumes too!

Getting ready for

Primary School! At North View Primary School, we were introduced

to the school environment and facilities. We also

experienced the ‘recess period’, where we get to

buy food with the $2 that we each brought. We are

getting excited for Primary School!

Singapore turns 52!

It’s National Day Celebration at

KMY, and it started with a fun

mass exercise and a short skit on

how Singapore got its name.

There were lots of singing and

games which we truly enjoyed!

Exhibition!

amazed at the

creations made of

Legos. Look!

Sports theme organised by the

committee. Our teachers enjoyed the

games, hilarious acting and the heartfelt

videos prepared by parents. We love

第三季度的华文主题—我的祖国和文化，上课过程中大量地采用了美术、音乐律动、游戏等授课方式。幼儿学习粘贴画的制作方法和技能，提高幼儿的动手能力，培养幼儿对手工活动的乐趣和良好的手工活动习惯。

音乐律动：培养幼儿对音乐的兴趣，体验音乐活动美的情趣，锻炼幼儿的协调性。

Nursery 1 A The children learned that

the COMMUNITY HELPERS help people in the

neighbourhood. They dressed up and made

crafts relating to community helpers.

The children had fun learning about

TRANSPORTATION. They designed their own junk box car and flew paper aeroplanes. They went

outdoor to look at various types of transportation on

the road.

Nursery 2 B

The children learned about the broad theme “My Country, My Culture”. We had many activities such as fieldtrip to the Piece of Peace World Heritage Exhibit, where the children were able to look at local monuments made out of Lego bricks. The children also looked at different sports equipment such as bicycles, and facilities such as a badminton court, around the neighbourhood for our Sports theme.

Kindergarten 1

In this term, K1 children had the opportunity to learn an interesting

topic called “Homes & Houses” where they found out a lot about their homes and things associated

with houses. They even built a collage for their homes using

textured materials.

Apart from that, K1 children also had a splendid time learning about

Sports. We played basketball using the basketball ball and

the net! Awesome!

Kindergarten 2 The children learned

about different types of sports. One such exciting

sport is bowling!

Learning addition using materials such as

colourful ice-cream sticks, legos and

counters.

2 + 2 = 4

Learning the names of sports equipment such as badminton racket, shuttlecock and the types of balls used.

Dear teachers of KMY,

Thank you a gazillion for looking after my 3 boys Bashier, Nazhier & Munier. We know it requires a lot of passion and energy to handle all the very active kids everyday. We salute all the teachers and staff of KMY. You all have done a very fantastic job in nurturing the kids. We are very impressed by all the knowledge our children brought back home!

Thank you to all teachers & staff at KMY. I would like to thank all for being the best teachers to my kids from the 1st day I send my eldest to school. Your patience, loving, understanding and commitment has made a positive impact on the kids.
