Kidz Meadow Childcare @ Yishun Term 1, 2018 Newsletter

Message from Principal We have come to the end of Term 1 and it is the first newsletter to a new academic year.

I hope your child has shared his/her experiences with you on the classroom activities,

friends and teachers. Our first centre event is the Chinese New Year celebration and we

also had fieldtrips to the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Malay Heritage Centre.

With the implementation of Nature Magnified, the K1 and K2 children can explore and

discover more on their environment. Do look out for their termly Nature Magnified

passport and find out how you can be part of the learning journey. Another initiatives is

the implementation of the TAIDII parent app whereby parents will receive updated

happenings and announcements from the centre through their mobile phones.

This year, we will team up with a few communities and government agencies on our

Innovation Project, “Healthy Body, Healthy Mind”. Apart from promoting community

engagement, we have planned to provide opportunities for our children to contribute to

society by partnering with Health Promotion Board (HPB), Singapore Kindness Movement

and Sports Singapore. We hope to see more parental involvement and sharing of

knowledge and skills throughout this project.

I looked forward to a meaningful partnership with you to ensure

that the children can achieve their fullest potential. Thank you.

第一季度采用了美术、音乐、角色扮演等授课方式。让幼儿在学中玩，玩中学。激发幼儿的学习兴趣，调动幼儿积极性。幼儿通过绘画、美工等形式，不仅学到了相关知识点，还提高了幼儿的动手能力和培养幼儿对手工活动的乐趣在音乐活动中，幼儿认识乐器的名称及特点，知道它们会发出不同的声音，让幼儿对乐器演奏音乐产生兴趣，喜欢欣赏音乐。在角色扮演中，幼儿们扮演舞狮来庆祝华人新年。通过舞狮表演，让幼儿了解舞狮是华人的传统习俗，也是一项优秀的传统技艺。每逢佳节期间，华人都会以舞狮来庆祝佳节，带来热闹的气氛。

We can walk, we can run, we can jump,

and we can burst the bubbles all around!

ALL ABOUT DRESSING UP!

We talked about clothes and ways

to dress up. The children looked

awesome in the various children’s

clothing.

There were lots of sensorial

play and scribbling using

colouring materials and

manipulatives. Water-play

was one of their favourite

activities too. N1A learnt

new words such as ‘wet’

and ‘splash’. Weee

splashing good time!

with our friends and made a

collage of big and small

triangles. We learnt to

identify straight lines

outdoors and walked on them

too!
