Presided over by the president of the HBA, this formal reception honors members for their distinguished service to the association, the building industry and the community in the previous calendar year. A social hour precedes the ceremony, offering an ideal opportunity to socialize and network with City Council members, local elected officials and hundreds of fellow HBA members. The high point of the evening is the announcement of the recipients of the awards for Associate Member of the Year, Builder Member of the Year, and Industry Person of the Year. Come celebrate the members whose contributions have helped to promote and further the mission of our great association.

For more than two decades, HBA builder members and licensed real estate agents have been getting together at this exclusive event to talk about new inventory and locations that could potentially benefit new home buyers. There is no better sign of spring than the HBA Home & Garden Show! Winding through spectacular living landscape displays, attendees can take in the sights, sounds and smells of outdoor Colorado living as they gather ideas for their own backyard. They’ll also be able to talk with hundreds of local professionals about exciting ways to enhance the interior of their home, from state-of-the-art kitchens and energy-efficient windows, to spas, sun rooms, siding and decks. New for 2018! The Builder Product Expo is an industry-specific trade show for Associate members to exhibit the absolute newest and best products and services to Colorado Springs-area builders and remodelers. With its exclusive target audience of industry professionals, this show offers a great way for trade members to gain exposure for their businesses and keep an eye on their competition all in one place. The Parade of Homes – the HBA’s signature event – is recognized as the premier home tour of the Pikes Peak region. This legendary event showcases the latest trends and technology in residential construction, and reflects the high-caliber talent of local builders, interior designers, craftsmen and landscape architects. Typically featuring two dozen new homes, this unparalleled event gives the public the opportunity to tour homes in some of the finest neighborhoods throughout El Paso and Teller counties. No other event offers such an impressive range of indoor and outdoor styles, features and amenities that appeal to the needs and dreams of current and future homeowners – from affordable living to luxury dream homes.

CHILI FEST October 2018

Rated as the favorite member event of the year, Chili Fest brings together members and community partners for a chili cookin’ throw down! Builders and Associates compete for the Best Red Chili, Best Green Chili and Best Dessert titles. Cookers decorate their booths with the theme of their choice, and a panel of judges vote on their favorite booth for even more heated competition. Music, craft beer, line dancing and a mechanical bull will make you want to don your cowboy hat for some Southwest-flavored fun!

The Annual Membership Reception pays tribute to the tradition of electing distinct industry leaders to represent the most influential association in the Pikes Peak region – the HBA. This formal gathering also serves to thank the outgoing president for the previous year of leadership, and to recognize the volunteer efforts of the Association’s committee and council members who provided critical support to the building industry that year.
