WHAT IS FAVELA PAINTBALL?

• An outdoor paintball field located in the middle of the favela of Santa Marta of Rio de Janeiro

• Groups of 6-20, evenly divided into two teams

• All equipment and transportation included

What to bring?

- Sports clothing

- Closed toed shoes

- An open mind

- A camera

• Andre grew up in a dangerous favela in the north of Rio

• He moved to Santa Marta to marry his wife 10 years ago

• After playing professional paintball, he decided to bring his passion to his community

• Everything we do is intended to give back to this community

• Residents of Santa Marta play at a steep discount and often congregate at the field to socialize

• People who have never been to a favela ask: “Why are you simulating battle in a place that was so recently plagued by violence?”
