4 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
Salt and cracked black pepper to taste
1/2 pound bacon, diced, fried crisp and drained
1 pound elbow macaroni or short hollow pasta, cooked according to package directi ons and drained, reserving 3 teaspoons pasta water
8 ounces Gruyere, grated
Chopped chives for garnish
Place cream in large saucepan with rosemary. Add salt and pepper. Bring to boil and keep at boil unti l reduced by half (be pati ent, this takes some ti me). Sti r in bacon and pasta and simmer unti l hot; add the cheese and reserved pasta water. Sti r unti l cheese is melted. Garnish with chopped chives. Serve immediately.

Foods to warm and comfort
Colder weather means a return to meals that chase the chill. These family-friendly favorites are bound to please and they are simple to make. Here are two of the most popular:
Cheese SlidersYield: 4 sliders
1 pound ground beef
Salt and pepper to taste
6 ounces Gruyere, thinly sliced
4 slices bacon, cooked and cut in half
4 small hamburger buns, lightly toasted
Lett uce, tomato, roasted red peppers and onions (opti onal)
Preheat grill.
Season beef with salt and pepper, and form into 8 small, thin patti es.
Evenly place 3 ounces cheese in the center of 4 patti es. Top with remaining patti es, and fi rmly press edges to seal.
Place sliders on grill. Just before sliders reach desired internal temperature, top with remaining sliced cheese and cook for 1 to 2 additi onal minutes, or unti l cheese begins to melt.
Layer garnishes and bacon on bott om buns; transfer sliders to buns and serve.
