You did it again, Lakeside. The challenge was to bring in 900 pounds of food for Skyline Urban Ministries and therefore receive another homemade WAFFLE breakfast from Pastor Randy. On the morning of November 30, you have collected 1,028 pounds. I will be perfecting my recipe to make this a special breakfast for all. November was our Stewardship Campaign. Thank you to all who turned in their pledges. If you have not done so yet, please do this soon so we can plan our budget for 2016. With some changes in our membership, we are in need of our members to step up so we can continue to provide all the wonderful ministries Lakeside is known for. There are extra commitment cards at the church. We are now in the season of Advent as we anticipate the coming of the Christ child. Our sanctuary is decorated. Our mission outreach this month is to provide some of the needs and wants for the children and youth at the United Methodist Children’s Home in Tahlequah OK. After Sunday, we only have a few requests left and these must be wrapped, the tag attached and returned to the church by noon on Dec. 9. Our choir is preparing a wonderful cantata for Sunday morning, Dec.13 and on Dec. 20, we will have a special reading of the Christmas Story for the children. The chil- dren are asked to dress up as their favorite Nativity character on that day. During Advent, I will be introducing my sermons with the words from a Christmas Song. On Nov. 29, I used “Santa Clause is Coming to Town.” Other songs I will use are: • “Blue Christmas” • “This Little Light of Mine” • “Mary Did You Know” • And “Joy to the World” on Christmas eve, at our special candlelight service at 6:30 pm. I hope this will generate some interest during Advent and Christmas. It is my prayer that you will have a blessed Advent season, keeping the stress of gift buying to a minimum. Remember that we are preparing for the coming of the baby that will also be our Savior. Enjoy Christmas and the New Year with your family and church family. Do not forget to invite your family and your friends and others to “Come and See” what is happen- ing at Lakeside United Methodist Church on North May and NW 66th. Blessings, Pastor Randy

GREETERS AND USHERS Youth Class

LITURGIST Rob Yetter

5:00 pm-Youth Fellowship

No Youth Fellowship

Greetings from your music department! We have been busy for several weeks in gearing up for the Advent season and there are a couple of very important dates for you to put on your calendar. Every service is special and noteworthy at Lakeside and our annual Christmas cantata will definitely be one of those events!

On Sunday, December 13th, during our Sunday morning service, the Chancel Choir will present, “Hope Has Hands,” and will include narration, solos, a duet and a beautiful powerpoint presentation all backed up by in-credible orchestration. Mark your calendars!

On the 20th of December, our children will be presenting their program during our regular service so please come in support of them. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you to Vicki for her efforts with the heart of our church, our children!

One of the most moving services of the year, to me, is the candlelight Christmas Eve service. Be sure to bring your family and friends to this gathering that prepares our hearts for the celebratory day where we remember the birth of our Savior and King! We will lift our voices, together, in singing the traditional carols that everyone knows and loves, so please highlight this on your calendar!

As I am sure that many of you have noticed, we are growing! I am so excited to have welcomed Ricky, Penny and Lacy into our Chancel Choir and Gene will be joining us for our Christmas cantata. The Bell Choir has also enlarged itself with three new members: George, Ricky and Penny. We have a lot of fun working and fel-lowshipping together as we prepare to lead you, our family, in worship.

I would like to extend a note of appreciation to each of you who have presented special music over the past few months. It is such a blessing to our church to see and to hear the talents that God has given to you.

Thank you so much for your prayers, love and support! It means the world to me that you place confidence in me as your music director. I love being a part of the Lakeside family.

Prayerfully,

Aiya Attaway Kelley

The Christmas Story on Sunday, December 20th

during the Children’s Conversation Children are encouraged to come dressed

as their favorite character from the Christmas story.

So get ready to have some Bible fun and dress up like one of the nativity characters!

LET THEM EAT WAFFLES!!

November Food Drive for Skyline Urban Ministry

Congratulations Lakesiders! Pastor Randy will be making waffles for the congregation as you have collected 1,028 lbs. of food for Skyline Ministry.

The Oklahoma Blood Institute sincerely appreciates the 13

people who gave blood during LUMC November Blood Drive!

Thank you also to Teresa Bockus for organizing the drive. This

selfless act saves lives. Congratulations on this success-ful community service event to

all involved.

A Loving Note of Gratitude from AM Nowlin I was deeply touched by the abundance of love expressed by my Lakeside UMC family during my recent recovery. The phone calls, visits, cards, gifts and meals were all so appreciated and gave me such encouragement. It is the light of Christ I saw in each of you that helps me gain strength every day. I am so blessed to have you as my church family. Love to you all, AM Nowlin
