Over a year in to the COVID-19 pandem ic, the University con tinues to close ly m onitor the situa tion to best in form our policies and protocols. Our top priority rem ains the hea lth , sa fe ty, and we ll-be ing of our com m unity, on and off cam pus. Through public health au thority guidance and recom m endations, the University has been ab le to slowly repopula te the cam pus in a phased approach , with appropria te m easures to protect the hea lth of the com m unity. 2. COVID Safety Training

2.1 Vaccination

Notes:

Harvard University requires COVID-19 vaccination for all Harvard University community members, including: •Students •Faculty •Staff •Researchers •Embedded vendors Exceptions may be provided for medical or religious reasons. Note that unvaccinated individuals may be subject to additional public health measures (e.g., more frequent testing). Unvaccinated persons should ensure they take steps to plan and protect themselves while on campus, including, face coverings, distancing (when possible) and avoiding locations/activities where there are unmasked people. Community members are advised to complete their vaccination, as soon as possible, and submit verification of

vaccination to HUHS immediately.

2.2 Fully Vaccinated?

Notes:

Full vaccina tion is de fined as two weeks a fte r rece iving the fina l dose of an FDA authorized or approved vaccine (curren tly Moderna , Pfize r, or Johnson & Johnson) or vaccines tha t have been au thorized for use by the World Hea lth Organiza tion (e .g., AstraZeneca-Oxford , Sinopharm , Sinovac). Keep your vaccina tion ca rd sa fe and m ake a copy for your file s. If you have been vaccina ted ou tside of Harvard Unive rsity Hea lth Se rvices, p lease fo llow Harvard Unive rsity COVID-19: Verify Your Vaccina tion to secure ly subm it your records. Fu lly vaccina ted ind ividua ls a re no longer requ ired to quaran tine for ou t of sta te trave l a fte r rece iving a single , nega tive COVID-19 te st upon re turn to the a rea and without sym ptom s of COVID-19. Fu lly vaccina ted ind ividua ls a re still expected to work with the contact tracing team , includ ing answering any fo llow-up ca lls, bu t m ay be re leased from any quaran tine requirem ent p rovided they a re asym ptom atic and subm it a copy of the ir CDC vaccina tion record to the contact tracer.

2.3 Self-Monitoring for Symptoms

Notes:

Harvard University com m unity m em bers a re expected to assess the ir hea lth sta tus p rior to any on-cam pus activitie s. If a com m unity m em ber is fee ling unwell or a re experiencing any sym ptom s associa ted with COVID-19 report them to your hea lthcare provider for fu rthe r gu idance and d o n o t r e p or t t o w ork / cla ss o r e n ga ge in a n y on -ca m p u s a ct ivit ie s . The m ost com m on sym ptom s of COVID-19 include : cough , tha t is not re la ted to a chron ic cond ition , shortness of b rea th or d ifficu lty b rea th ing, fever, fa tigue , ch ills, m uscle or body aches, sore th roa t, headache , and new loss of taste or sm ell, congestion or runny nose , tha t is not re la ted to seasona l a lle rgies, nausea or vom iting and d ia rrhea . If HUHS or your hea lthcare p rovide r suspects or confirm s tha t you have COVID-19, fo llow the ir gu idance on the length of tim e you m ust rem ain a t hom e. Sta ff shou ld notify the ir supervisor and work with HUHS and the ir hea lthcare p rovider to de te rm ine when to re tu rn to work and shou ld fo llow Hum an Resources (HR) Coronavirus Workp lace Policies.

2.4 Crimson Clear

2.5 COVID-19 Testing

Notes:

Mem bers of the Harvard com m unity with an on cam pus p resence will be participa te in Harvard 's

su rve illance p rogram with a frequency tha t m atches the ir on cam pus sta tus. Testing cadence is

de te rm ined based upon ind ividua l vaccina tion sta tus as we ll as curren t in fection ra tes both on-

cam pus and regiona lly.

Schools and un its shou ld m onitor te sting participa tion and act when ind ividua ls fa il to te st

accord ing to the ir expected cadence .

Pe rsons with sym ptom s suggestive of COVID-19 shou ld be eva lua ted by the ir pe rsona l hea lthcare p rovider. Anyone who tests positive shou ld report th is to HUHS via Crim son Clear (un less the ir te sting was adm in iste red by HUHS).

2.6 Mandatory Face Coverings

Notes:

Face coverings a re requ ired indoors a t Harvard University in a ll spaces, with lim ited excep tions.

All Harvard University m em bers shou ld carry an accep tab le face covering a t a ll tim es when on

cam pus.

While outdoors, on ly unvaccina ted pe rsons unab le to consisten tly m ain ta in p roper d istance a re

requ ired to wear a face covering. Face coverings m ay be rem oved ou tdoors when ab le to

consisten tly m ain ta in a t least six fee t from othe rs. Th is is for any purpose , includ ing ea ting,

d rinking, and physica l fitness.

Fu lly vaccina ted pe rsons a re no longer requ ired to wear face coverings when ou tdoors. Fu lly

vaccina ted ind ividuals m ay ea t and d rink toge the r indoors and ou tdoors, withou t physica l

distancing.

2.7 Physical Distancing

Notes:

Massachusetts’ COVID-19 state sector-specific occupancy limits and Harvard University occupancy

limits have been lifted. Indoor and outdoor physical distancing is no longer required for fully

vaccinated persons. Unvaccinated persons should continue to protect themselves by practicing

physical distancing when possible, especially when unmasked. In settings where physical distancing is

no longer required, it remains a prudent health practice to continue physical distancing when close

contact is not necessary.

2.8 Eating and Drinking

Notes:

Eating and d rinking indoors shou ld be lim ited to areas where o the rs cou ld reasonab ly an ticipa te th is unm asked activity. Appropria te ea ting and drinking a reas ou tside of p riva te residences include licensed food se rvice opera tions, kitchene tte and café a reas bu t can a lso include b reak/m ee ting room s/spaces, and confe rence room s. An ind ividua l m ay a lso ea t and d rink in the ir pe rsona l workspace (e .g. cub icle ). If approached by anyone , don face covering prom ptly.

2.9 Good Personal Hygiene

Notes:

Practicing good pe rsona l hygiene is one of the easiest th ings we can do every day to p rotect ourse lves and people a round us. One of the m ost im portan t de fenses is to wash your hands frequently using soap and wate r. Be sure to wash for a t least 20 seconds to ensure tha t your hands a re thoroughly clean! If soap and wate r a re not read ily ava ilab le , use a hand san itize r tha t con ta ins a t least 60% a lcohol. Apply it d irectly to your hands and rub them toge the r un til d ry. Whenever possib le , re fra in from touch ing your eyes, nose and m outh . Th is is e specia lly im portan t if your hands a ren’t clean , due to the possib ility of transfe rring the virus from a con tam inated surface to you . If you fee l the u rge to cough or sneeze , do it in to a tissue or your e lbow to avoid sp read ing poten tia lly infectious d rop le ts. Discard any used tissues p rom ptly and wash your hands or app ly hand san itize r as soon as possib le . Even if you’re wearing a face m ask or face covering, you’ll wan t to fo llow these p ractices.

2.10 Cleaning and Disinfecting
