Falck Safety Services is the world’s leading safety training provider. In the UK, we provide more than 200 Health & Safety and Survival courses. Our specialist training centres in Aberdeen and Teesside combine highly experienced trainers with state of the art equipment and simulators to offer delegates a realistic training experience in a safe and controlled environment.

Each course is delivered by expert instructors to ensure that every delegate receives a personal training experience – and that any concerns that they may have are discussed and addressed. All our instructors provide complete reassurance and allow each delegate to develop the confidence, knowledge and skills they need to work safely.

As a key division of the Falck Group, Falck Safety Services is the world’s largest provider of safety training for the offshore industry. Last year across the globe we provided safety training to more than 342,000 employees from shipping companies, military defence units, the aviation industry, the oil & gas industry and the renewable energy industry. We also perform analysis of safety, contingency plans and crisis management especially in the offshore and nuclear sectors.

Our team constantly focuses on product development to service the ever-increasing international safety demands that clients must meet - often in very difficult working environments. We continue to help disseminate these very high safety standards from the North Sea to the rest of the world helping to ensure compliance with governing bodies such as OLF, OPITO and NOGEPA.

Private delegates will be asked to pay at the time of booking. We accept most major credit and debit cards.

Customers using our service for the first time will be issued with a

pro forma invoice for which payment has to be received before the training commences.

Account customers will be invoiced after the training has taken place.

Reservations are made on the basis that training courses will be charged at the price in effect on the date of the course commencement.

For courses that are subject to external accreditation fees / exam fees, this will be included in the price unless we advise otherwise and then they will be charged in addition to the price(s) current on the date of course commencement.

Prices are exclusive of VAT and any other taxes will be charged in addition at the prevailing rate(s) where applicable.

Prices are based on the provision of courses during the normal working week (Monday – Friday).

Falck Safety Services reserves the right to re-schedule any course for operational reasons.

Customer specific and company closed courses can be developed and arranged upon request.

Terms and Conditions

Our Customer Services Team is dedicated to ensuring that your queries are answered and your bookings are processed efficiently and accurately.

Our advisors will advise on dates and availability and take necessary personal details to enable the booking transaction to take place. A number of our most popular courses, such as BOSIET, FOET and Banksman Slinger (Stage 1) can be booked online.

For our Corporate Clients we can offer “Spider,” our online booking system. This system is completely free to set up and use. Using this system will allow you to receive instant access to ‘live’ bookings and course availability information.

We aim to make the booking process easier and time-efficient for you and offer this service 24 hours a day. For more information or if you would like access to this tool please email [email protected]. If you are undertaking a training course which is referred to as “further” or “refresher” then you will be asked for details to verify that you already hold the required certificates to undertake the course.

When your booking has been processed, joining instructions will be sent immediately (normally via email) with course details such as venue and start time, and will highlight any items that you need to bring with you. Please note, all delegates are required to bring photographic ID with them when enrolling on any course.

Survival

Offshore survival training is essential for anyone working offshore in the oil & gas industry – both for individuals who are already working offshore and for anyone who is looking to work offshore for the first time.

Falck Safety Services offers OPITO accredited, basic and refresher training (BOSIET & FOET). Training can also be provided in accordance with the Norwegian Oil & Gas Association (formerly OLF). Emergency Breathing Systems (EBS) training and Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) are also delivered.

Our state-of-the-art equipment and simulators provide delegates with a realistic training experience in a safe and controlled environment. Our expert instructors ensure that delegates receive personal attention at all times and that any areas of concern are addressed during their training. Delegates ultimately gain the increased confidence and reassurance that they will need if they are ever involved in an emergency situation.

Our expertise in oil & gas training can be applied across the full lifecycle of offshore installations, including specific training related to decommissioning.

Health & Safety is a major challenge in offshore decommissioning and we can provide OPITO-approved training in a range of industry courses including; offshore crane operations, banksman/slinger, rigging & lifting operations, confined space, working at heights, emergency management, offshore safety induction courses, sea fire emergency teams.

People and partnerships are imperative to our business; we view the relationships that we establish within industry groups as being key to sharing and transferring specialist knowledge and thus reducing the risk of serious injury offshore. We sit on a number of industry steering groups, including Decom North Sea, and are keen to continue to develop our knowledge in this sector, whilst also offering advice on best practice and supplying client-based solutions in practical training.

FireFalck Safety Services believes that training in firefigthing should be as practical and realistic as possible. Our firefighting training is carried out in Aberdeen in partnership with The Fire Training Group ‘FTG’ at Aberdeen Airport and in Teesside at Serco’s International Fire Training Centre (IFTC).

This training is delivered by highly qualified instructors and experienced operational firefighters who have specialist knowledge of dealing with emergency situations. Scenarios are delivered on a variety of training simulators where realistic fire events are created to simulate real life situations.

We can offer training to meet a range of bespoke requirements for clients, whether your industry is offshore oil & gas, renewable energy, maritime, power generation, nuclear or petrochemical.

Training programmes are delivered to OPITO standards for the offshore oil & gas sector and, for training in the maritime industry, our advanced and basic programmes meet the STCW standards. We also have a range of experience in delivering JOIFF training for our industrial clients.

In addition, we offer a range of basic fire safety courses in Aberdeen and Teesside, including Fire Safety Awareness, Fire Warden and Fire Extinguisher Training.

Our dedicated maritime centre allows training to be carried out within a protected breakwater. This eliminates the dependency on weather or tidal conditions and enables us to offer all year round training. Realistic, practical training is further enhanced with easy access to the North Sea.

With the capability to provide flexible training solutions for the varying demands of this diverse sector, we deliver basic and refresher training to both the offshore and standby industries. Many of our courses are accredited by OPITO, STCW, MCA & the RYA ensuring a training delivery which meets the stringent standards of this industry. (Customers should be aware that for many of these courses a minimum duration of sea time may be required along with some pre-requisite training. Our experienced training coordinators will be happy to advise where necessary.)

Did you know? The Manila 2010 STCW amendments come into force on the 1st January 2017 which means all seafarers must have the relevant in date STCW certification before they can go to sea. This will also mean that many seafarers will need to complete initial or refresher training to meet the new requirements. Falck Safety Services UK is one of very few training providers able to offer all 5 initial and refresher course modules, for delegates requiring training. Extensive investment, including the construction of a bespoke new STCW fire rig, has been made to ensure Falck Safety Services UK are able to provide delegates with a realistic training experience on land and open water, to cover industry demand. From our approved training centres in Aberdeen and Teesside, we offer practical and realistic safety training designed specifically for the wind energy sector. Our 23.7m high wind turbine training tower and boat transfer simulator make Falck the one stop for all safety and technical training needs.

Selected courses include working at height, marine safety, confined space, survival, fire fighting, manual handling and first aid. Our experience and knowledge of training for the offshore energy sector is proving invaluable in the development and delivery of course programmes aligned to the offshore wind industry and the renewable energy sector as a whole.

Our suite of wind turbine training courses can cater for those working across a range of stages in the development of a wind farm, from onshore construction through site survey, installation, commissioning, operations and maintenance to the eventual safe decommissioning of wind projects. To minimise the expense of travel, accommodation and downtime, many of our renewable courses can be delivered offsite or at the client’s premises.

Falck Safety Services, has formed a strategic alliance with EPIT, a hazardous and industrial areas training specialist, following demand for highly specialised training in the UK. EPIT is an approved certified CompEx centre that offers the nationally recognised courses to electrical and instrumentation technicians.

In addition, EPIT’s Competency Plus Programme includes a range of Ex, ATEX, Mechanical, High Voltage/Low Voltage and Electrical Safety courses, all of which are accredited by City and Guilds. Dates and availability can be provided on request, please contact us for more information.
