SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ is also known as the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, which translates from Latin to "Body of Christ." This feast originated in France in the mid-thirteenth century and was extended to the whole Church by Pope Urban IV in 1264. This feast is celebrated on the Thursday following the Trinity Sunday or, as in the USA, on the Sunday following that feast. This feast calls us to focus on two manifestations of the Body of Christ, the Holy Eucharist and the Church. The primary purpose of this feast is to focus our attention on the Eucharist. Our worship of Jesus in His Body and Blood calls us to offer to God our Father a pledge of undivided love and an offering of ourselves to the service of others. FEAST OF THE SACRED HEART The Feast of the Sacred Heart is a solemnity in the liturgical calendar of the Roman Catholic Church. Institution of the feast was a result of the appearances of our Lord to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in 1675. The celebration of the feast was extended to the general calendar of the Church by Pius IX in 1856. The "great apparition," which took place on June 16, 1675, during the octave of the Feast of Corpus Christi, is the source of the modern Feast of the Sacred Heart. In that vision, Christ asked St. Margaret Mary to request that the Feast of the Sacred Heart be celebrated on the Friday after the octave (or eighth day) of the Feast of Corpus Christi, in reparation for the ingratitude of men for the sacrifice that Christ had made for them. The devotion to the Sacred Heart is one of the most widely practiced and well-known Roman Catholic devotions, taking Jesus Christ's physical heart as the representation of his divine love for humanity. Vstup zdarma, autentické české a slovenské jedlá a hudobno-tanečný program. SVIATOK NAJSVÄTEJŠIEHO SRDCA JEŽIŠOVHO Vo štvrtok je sviatok Najsvätejšieho srdca Ježišovho. Počiatky osobitnej úcty k Ježišovmu Srdcu siahajú až do 12. storočia k sv. Anzelmovi a sv. Bernardovi.

Radi privítame všetkých mladých vekom a duchom. Po sv. omši bude malé pohostenie a diskotéka.
