Catholic Community Annual Appeal – Some

parishioners will have received a letter from the Bishop

regarding this appeal. There will be an “in-pew” solicitation

on March 11 and 12. You may mail your pledges directly to

the Diocese (envelope is provided) or you can drop pledges in

the collection basket at church. There will be an article

regarding the CCAA in the February 24 issue of The Register.

The CCAA supports the many ministries of the Diocese

including Youth and Adult Formation, Catholic schools,

Seminary education, and family life. If you have not yet made

a gift to the Appeal, please take some time to pray about it and

consider a gift.

Pilgrimage of Hope: The Ancient Relic of the

Apostle St. Jude to visit Kansas in February. The

centuries-old Arm Relic of St. Jude will be featured in mission

pilgrimage in four Kansas communities. The pilgrimage will

provide the faithful an opportunity to venerate the Arm Relic

of St. Jude, the largest relic of an Apostle housed outside of

Rome. The faithful will have the opportunity to receive

blessings with the Oil of St. Jude. St. Jude Oil and other

religious articles will also be available after each event. The

pilgrimages are: February 19 at Sacred Heart Cathedral,

Salina; February 20 at St. Isidore, Manhattan; February 22 at

St. Francis Xavier, Junction City; February 23 at St. Lawrence

in Lawrence. For more information, visit the Shrine’s

guests following Confirmation. Meat and drinks will

Annual Youth Convention – April 8-9, Salina -- Join other youth from the Diocese. Be inspired by your keynote speaker, Father Chester Smith SVD, and spend time with one another. Prayer and Action: The Diocese of Salina sponsors a

"Prayer and Action Mission Experience" for high school youth who are interested in helping the most needy among us—the infirm, the elderly, and the poor. The youth, closely supervised by adults, will be working on projects such as painting, minor home repairs, yard work, and other requested jobs. Each week brings in 60 students eager to work and serve. That means keeping six teams of 10 youth and their sponsors busy improving the community.

Every year they choose two lucky towns, one on the east side and one on the west side of the Diocese. Hoxie was able to host this mission in July of 2013. Now it’s our turn to help other communities! Please give your name to your small group leader or Amanda ASAP, as the diocese is already taking reservations. Reservations need to be made by March 15! Adults, if you would like to enjoy this amazing week with the youth, please let Amanda know as soon as possible!
