The heat and humidity of summer are on the wane and the cooler temperatures of autumn will be on us shortly. The fall season signals a number of exciting events for us. where the latest technologies and innovations in the field of sustainable and greenbuilding construction will be showcased.
We are also looking forward to AUSTRIA CONNECT, the 9th Annual Conference for Executives of Austrian Subsidiaries in the US and Canada, which will be held Sept. 22 - 24, 2016 in Atlanta, GA. The theme of this year's conference is "Staying Relevant in Rapidly Changing Times." We will be joined by a delegation led by Jörg Leichtfried, the Austrian Federal Minister for Transport, Innovation, and Technology. We hope to see you there! Across the big pond, an automotive forum is being planned in Linz, Upper Austria at the beginning of October. I will be taking part in a series of symposiums throughout Austria on topics including "The Future of Urban Mobility" and "A Dialogue for Global Innovation." On October 17 the Upper Austrian Export Day will explore the future of exports. All in all, a jam-packed couple of months await us! Industrial production up by 0.6% in Euro area *)
In June 2016 compared with May 2016, seasonally adjusted industrial production rose by 0.6% in the euro area (EA19) and by 0.5% in the EU28, according to estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In May 2016 industrial production fell by 1.2% and 1.1% respectively. In June 2016 compared with June 2015, industrial production increased by 0.4% in the euro area and by 0.5% in the EU28.
The increase of 0.4% in industrial production in the euro area in June 2016, compared with June 2015, is due to production of capital goods rising by 1.1%, both durable consumer goods and non-durable consumer goods by 0.9% and intermediate goods by 0.4%, while production of energy fell by 3.5%. In the EU28, the increase of 0.5% is
due to production of capital goods rising by 1.4%, durable consumer goods by 1.3%, non-durable consumer goods by 0.8% and intermediate goods by 0.3%, while production of energy fell by 3.1%.
