As we head into summer, I'd like to bring you up to date on some of the events we have coming up. The week of June 5 we will have a delegation from Vienna headed by Ms. Renate Brauner, State Minister for Finance, Economic and International Affairs, City of Vienna, in Chicago. On June 6 we are hosting a lunch presentation, "The Global Economic Outlook: BREXIT, Trumponomics, Opportunities, and Risks," which promises to give new insights and perspectives on these timely topics. Austrian companies will be exhibiting at NEOCON, the premier show for the commercial design industry, and amerimold 2017 & Plastics Shop Floor Expo in Rosemont. Then I'm off to Austria for the annual meeting of trade
commissioners held at our head office in Vienna. We will also be travelling throughout the country to meet with numerous Austrian companies looking to expand their activities to overseas markets.
And don't forget our 10th annual AUSTRIA CONNECT Conference for Executives of Austrian Subsidiaries, "Society Transforming Technologies." The event will take place September 21 - 22, 2017 in Stanford, CA - mark your calendars now!

Preliminary flash estimate for the first quarter of 2017: GDP up by 0.5% in the euro area and by 0.4% in the EU28 *)
Seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 0.5% in the euro area (EA19) and by 0.4% in the EU28 during the first quarter of 2017, compared with the previous quarter, according to a preliminary flash estimate published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In the fourth quarter of 2016, GDP had grown by 0.5% in the euro area and by 0.6% in the EU28.
