• Digipak is a patented style of CD, DVD or BD packaging,

and is a registered trademark of AGI-Shorewood, an

Atlas Holdings LLC company. Digipaks typically consist

of a gatefold (book-style) paperboard or card stock outer

binding, with one or more plastic trays capable of holding

a CD or DVD attached to the inside.

• Every music genre has its own representation, in different

forms. The most indispensable representation is of the

color scheme and the images used in every music

related product (Magazine, Poster, Website, Digipak,

etc.). The same goes with the digipak. I have shown a

comparison between the digipaks of the bands, Dream

Theater, Nickelback, Entity Paradigm, Avenged

Sevenfold and Pantera in next slides.

• The color scheme of this digipak is purple, blue, black

and red. The main image delineate the title of the

album “When Dream And Day Unite”. The main image

shows that a person is sleeping and dreaming in the

daylight.

• Main Title: The main title of the digipak is written in a very simple

sans serif font, which pretty much describes the genre of the band,

Rock/Progressive Rock by its simplicity.

• Main Image: The main image is about a person sleeping and

dreaming which depicts the album title “When Dream And Day

Unite”.

• Band’s Album Title: The band’s album title is “When Dream And

Day Unite”, it is all about the moment, when a dream will come true.

• Production Details: These are the details which shows the name of

the producer/s, the company/record label or the studio.

• Track Listing: Track listing shows us the track names, also the

duration and the artist/s name sometimes.

• Bar Code: Bar code is a zebra line code, in which the details of the

product are stored and by scanning with a bar code reader, the

details can be retrieved.

• The color scheme of this

digipak is black, grey and

natural colors. The title of

the album is Photograph

and the very first image

depicts it. The main image is

about a person playing the

guitar.

• Main Title: The main title of the digipak is written in a modern sans serif font. It stands out, because it is in block capitals and contrasts the background. The band would want it to stand out so it is easily recognizable and the audience would know that their new album is out.

• Main Image: The main image focuses on the lead vocalist and guitarist of the band Chad Karoger. It shows that he’s playing the guitar at the sea side in his lonely time.

• Band’s Album Title: The band’s album title “Photograph” is all about the memories of the artist’s life.

• Production Details: These are the details which shows the name of the producer/s, the company/record label or the studio.

• Track Listing: Track listing shows us the track names, also the duration and the artist/s name sometimes.

• Bar Code: Bar code is a zebra line code, in which the details of the product are stored and by scanning with a bar code reader, the details can be retrieved.

• Each of the digipak is

different from each other,

while they all belong to the

rock bands. Dream Theater

and Nickelback have used

person, whereas, E.P and

Avenged Sevenfold have

used the art work and

Pantera have used an

image of a snake.
