No one should leave the conference without having gained something which will improve

their profit earning capability. The last conference received excellent feedback from delegates

and the organising committee for this year has made a special effort to make the 21st

birthday conference the most worthwhile CPD opportunity that a self employed CIMA

member can avail of.The focus this year is on gaining new clients, getting technical updates

and using new technology.

Ron Baker is the driving force behind the profession’s migration to value pricing, in which rates are based on the value the client perceives. Since the publication of his first book The Professional’s Guide To Value Pricing in 1998, he has become a celebrity and coveted speaker within the accounting profession. For the sixth year in a row, Ron has been named by Accounting Today as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting.

Lesley Hansen is Group Marketing Director of Teleware Limited, the leading UK provider of internet telecom solutions. She will talk about how the convergence of data and telecoms delivery has really taken off this year. Ways in which MiPs and their clients can take advantage of these developments will be explained. Before joining Teleware, Lesley held a number of senior positions, marketing integrated voice and data products.

Simon Atkins ACMA, worked for a number of companies at Financial Controller level until 1999 when he decided to acquire a postgraduate law diploma. From there he managed the insolvency division of Mitchell Charlesworth achieving an annual billing of £1.5m. In 2005 he obtained his insolvency licence and set up a new insolvency business with six staff, and currently manages 200 insolvency assignments.

Will Kintish qualified as an accountant in 1971, aged 23 and practised for the next 30 years. He ended his accountancy career as the senior partner with a national firm and left to show people in the professional and financial sectors how to attract more business. Since then he has presented to over 30,000 people. In his first session on Saturday morning he will show his audience how to become confident and effective networkers. He later closes the conference with a session on how to be comfortable following up leads.
