MULTIFLO Pump Units were first produced in 1976, designed andmanufactured to provide a better and more reliable alternative to efficientlypump clean the open cut coal mining pits at the time. To secure a market

place, formation of a pump hire division was put in place using products exworks, this enabled the company to be actively involved with development andrequirements of setting in place mine pit dewatering systems in the open cutmining area.

Having achieved this mark, MULTIFLO entered into the open cut miningindustry with a range of diesel and electric driven vactronicTM vacuum primedpump sets capable of pumping not only water against high head situations, butalso large quantities of slurry from the open pits.

SUCTION LIFTThe unit has a N.P.S.L. (nett positivesuction lift) of 9 metres. To obtainmaximum performance it is advisable toinstall the pump unit as close as ispractical to the level of fluid beingpumped.

AUTO VACUUM PRIME SYSTEMVactronic electronically controlled, solidstate, fully sealed system. Vacuumcontrol operates via activation of asensor probe located in the vacuum tank

chamber. Vactronic system eliminatesall mechanically moving parts in thevacuum tank chamber (i.e. float ball andvalves). The unit is fitted with anon-return valve at the discharge pointof the pump and does not require a footvalve for priming.

BARE SHAFT PUMP SAFETY SHUT-DOWNAutomatic engine shutdown after2-8 minutes of operation without fluids.

Shut down is activated by anothersensor probe (delay timer preset to 6minutes). System acts as safetyprotection for both the bare shaft pumpand mechanical seal. The pump unitmay be used to operate under snoreconditions.

HIGH LIFT VACUUM TANKThe vacuum tank is manufactured from6 mm mild steel incorporating a waterand air separator chamber, designed to

give maximum air separation, allow-ing an uninterrupted flow to the bareshaft pump. The vacuum tank is alsocomplete with a vacuum water trap andback up Krundimendt Safety CheckValve to give maximum protection to thevacuum pump under all operatingconditions.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR A MULTIFLO DIESEL DRIVEN,VACUUM PRIMED, HIGH PERFORMANCE PUMP UNIT.

VACUUM PUMPThe vacuum pump is a 37 C.F.M.air-cooled rotary vane type fully sealedunit - self contained oil lubrication with a

two litre capacity. Operating at 1800RPM maximum and driven by two "Z"section vee belts from the pump inputshaft. The vacuum pump is fitted with a12 or 24 volt solenoid valve to close offflow to the vacuum pump after priming.

The Vactronic control module controlsthe opening and closing of the valve.

The vacuum pump is a 58 C.F.M.

air-cooled rotary type fully sealed unit -self contained oil lubrication with a 2 litrecapacity. Operating at 1800 RPMmaximum and driven by two "B" sectionvee belts from the pump input shaft. Thevacuum pump is fitted with a 12 voltsolenoid valve to close off flow to thevacuum pump after priming. TheVactronic control module controls theopening and closing of the valve.

PAINTSteel PreparationAll exterior steel work is abrasive blastcleaned in accordance with A.S.1627

1974, Part 4 - Class 2 1/2.

The first coat of paint is InternationalIntergard 475 HSE High Build Epoxywith a thickness of 150-250 microme-ters dry. The second and finish coat isInternational Interfine 629 with afinished thickness of 50-75 micrometersdry. (Total finished thickness 200-325micrometers).

Trailer Chassis

The trailer chassis is designed to be bolted on to any of the Multiflo pump units.

The trailer chassis is designed to be towed with the correct size vehicle to suit the

weight and size of the pump unit. The trailer chassis enables the pump unit to bemoved from one pumping location to another with ease.

The trailer chassis is fitted with the following items:-

Dual heavy duty axle

The correct wheels to suit the size and weight of the pump unit

Brakes can be electrical or mechanical (optional)

Tow hitch to suit customer requirements

The heavy duty skid chassis is designed to be bolted on to any of the Multiflo pumpunits.

The skid chassis is designed to be pushed around with bull dozers or excavators. Theskid runners enable pump units to be mounted on the heavy dutychassis and be towed from one pumping location to

another on minesite.

The heavy duty skid chassis is fittedwith the following items:-

Skid Mounted Pontoon

The heavy duty skid mounted pontoon unit is designed to float any of the Multiflo pumpunits. The pontoon is designed to be pushed with bull dozers or excavators.

The skid runners enable pump units mounted on the heavy duty pontoon to be towedfrom one pumping location to another on minesite.

The heavy duty skid mounted pontoon is fitted with following items:-

Skid runners fabricated from rectangular hollow section (RHS)

Four lifting points

Two tow lugs

Supa alloy tow chains

Replaceable wear plate

Heavy duty pushbar

Suction Boom KitThe Suction Boom is designed to control the pump unit suction hose while pumping andwhen moving from one pumping location to another on mine site.

The boom is completely hot dip galvanised and is fitted with Supa Alloy support chainscoupled to the chassis. The winch is fixed to a holding point on the chassis and suppliedwith 16 metres of 6mm wire rope.

MFVC-385 Stinger Pump UnitThe stinger was developed to meet the unique needs of a mine situated in an ancient volcano crater. They

needed a custom built pump unit designed to launch and retrieve a pontoon mounted pump unit in their

hostile, flood prone environment.

The location for the pumps is in the bottom of the pit, where the acidic water temperature exceeds 80 C

making operator

exposure to the water extremely harmful.

To meet this need the stinger was developed to enable user friendly

operation of the pump with no operator contact with the water through the use of an automatic hydraulically

driven pontoon pump mounted well above the pit.

Designed for operator safety

One person operation to prepare for deployment and retrieval

Side access walkways along entire length of skid base complete with handrails at the rear of the unit
