Creating lifelong learners who will become confident,creative and successful individuals.

Woolgoolga High School is located on the North Coast ofNSW and caters for 850 students. The school is an activemember of the Northern Beaches Community of Schools(NBCoS) and is committed to ongoing and continuousimprovement. The school is targeting academicachievement and using technology as a tool to enhancelearning and administration. The school caters for a diverserange of students where each student is treated withrespect and as an individual. Our outstanding HSC resultsand our significant improvement in growth data forNAPLAN and VALID (Science) in 2017 highlights thequality learning that occurs daily at Woolgoolga HighSchool. 

Woolgoolga High School has a student population thatincludes 10% Aboriginal students, and also draws from asubstantial Sikh community where many students speakPunjabi in the home. The school caters for an increasingnumber of refugee families.

While academic achievement is the foundation stone forthe school, students enjoy a dynamic and rich educationalenvironment that fosters the love of learning and enjoymentof the school experience. The Peer Tutor ReadingProgram, the student led SMILE (Support, Mentor, Inspireand Encourage) program and the many innovativewellbeing programs ensure students grow into wellrounded and successful young adults.

Ongoing communication with students including SRC,Prefects, Academic Achievement Centre (AAC)students, and student leaders, parents including the P&C,community groups and staff.

Positive Relationships

Purpose:

Lifelong Learners who are literate, numerate and engagewith 21st Century learning. Our students are part of a smallcommunity and it is imperative that they are exposed to thewider world and the demands that will be placed upon themas they become successful individuals. To prepare ourstudents sufficiently must involve giving them the skills tocontinue to grow and appreciate the necessity for learningand developing the 21st Century skills that include:Creativity, Curiosity, Communication, Critical thinking,Citizenship, Collaboration and Character.

Purpose:

Teachers need to know their craft, be inspirational andutilise a multitude of methods of delivery, including themost up to date technology. Teachers are to model anddemonstrate lifelong learning and work together withstudents, parents, caregivers and our community to createenvironments for quality learning that flourishes in ourschool and community.

Teachers need to demonstrate and encourage leadershipdevelopment that will prepare our youth and our staff for adifferent future.

Purpose:

Develop positive relationships that enhance resilience andadaptability.

Schools, communities and classrooms are built on positiverelationships and great learning can only be achieved whenour students feel good about themselves. In a complexlarge high school it is important for students, staff and infact parents and caregivers, to continually build resilienceand positive relationships.

In our ever changing world adaptability is an essentialingredient for success.

Purpose

Schools, communities and classrooms arebuilt on positive relationships and greatlearning can only be achieved when ourstudents feel good about themselves. In acomplex large high school it is important forstudents, staff and in fact parents andcaregivers, to continually build resilienceand positive relationships.
