Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Lord, Welcome!
I rejoice as you join the Sacred Heart worshiping community for our Eucharistic Liturgy on this Fourth weekend of Advent. You bless all who
gather through your presence and prayerful participation. I pray the words of Sacred Scripture will guide you and the Bread of Life strengthen your faith. Thanks for being with us! Wow! Our celebration of Christ’s birth is almost here. Our Advent of anticipation is in its final days. How are you? I pray these last days of Advent will provide you time to quiet your spirit so as to truly rejoice in the Birth of Jesus. May Christ who died to Himself so that we may enjoy the fullness of life in God’s Kingdom be seen in us, in our dying to ourselves. Mary, in today, witnesses to this dying to self as she travels “to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah.” In the midst of her being with child, a child “called Holy, the Son of God,” Mary puts aside her bewilderment at all that was happening to her. Mary reaches out to Elizabeth, her relative who has “conceived a son in her old age.” In responding to Elizabeth’s needs, Mary dies to herself. It is a preview of her Son, Jesus, dying to self on the Cross for our salvation. Is the Birth of Christ an invitation to die to ourselves in reaching out to the “Elizabeths” of our world? I believe so!! Look out for the “Elizabeths” around you this Christmas season. Visit them in a card, in a phone call or in their home. Your dying to self will bring new life to them. If you want to quiet your heart and lift your spirit, join us this Sunday for the Sacred Heart Choir Concert at 4:00pm in Church. Come and relax in the midst of the sounds of Christmas. Treat yourself!! On behalf of Fr. Mike, Fr. John, the I.H.M.
Sisters and our Parish Staff, I extend our prayers and best wishes for Peace in you, in your family and in the world this Christmas season. Know I am grateful for you, the Parish community of Sacred Heart.
Peace be with you! Have a Blessed Christmas! Fr. McKee

INSPIRING THOUGHTS OF POPE FRANCIS
Like Mary, Christians are called to “become bearers
of Christ” and to “let ourselves be embraced by
the mercy of God who waits for us and forgives
everything. Nothing is sweeter than his mercy.”
