Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Lord, Welcome to Sacred Heart!
It is good to have you join our worshiping community as we celebrate our Eucharistic Liturgy for the Feast of the Holy Family. We are blessed
through your prayerful participation. Thanks for being with us! I am sure that most parents can identify with Joseph and Mary in today’s Gospel. Jesus is missing!! In a panic, they search for Jesus “among their relatives and acquaintances.” Not finding Jesus, they retrace their steps, returning to Jerusalem. Mary questions Jesus, after finding Him in the Temple. Mary expresses the reaction of most parents: “Son, why have you done this to us?” Mary reflects the emotions common in parenting: “Your Father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety.” Parenting has its challenges! Full proof answers to questions on parenting or solutions to parent-child conflicts are no where to be found. You can find books or articles offering strategies in parenting recommended by experts in parent-child relationships. They come with no guarantees! Sirach and Paul, in today’s Readings, offer their insights for healthy relationships, including family relationships. They suggest that honor, reverence, consideration, kindness, care, compassion, gentleness, patience, forgiveness and thanks be part of our interaction with others, especially our family. Go over this list
in prayer, seeking to make these ideas the “gifts” we bring to our family life. These “gifts” are rooted in our greatest gift, love.
Happy Holy Family Sunday!
God bless,
Fr. McKee
P.S. Many thanks to all who contributed their time and talent in making our Christmas Liturgies a joyful gathering of God’s people! On behalf of Fr. Dan, I thank you for your cards, treats of the season, well-wishes and kindness during this Christmas Season! We are most grateful!

Inspiring Thoughts Here we are at the end of the old year; tomorrow will be the beginning of the new. We must bless the Lord for the many graces we have received. May it please God that by means of these fleeting years we may happily arrive at the permanent year of a blessed eternity! Let us make good use of these small passing moments, living them out in that kindness and humility which Jesus, right from the time He was a child, taught us. St Francis de Sales
