Dear Friends In Christ, Allow me to begin with a word of thanks to Father Douglas McKay. He is celebrating our 5:00pm Vigil Mass this weekend and he will be hearing confessions as well. Most of you are
familiar with Father Doug as he has been to Sacred Heart many times. He will be coming once a month to share his priestly ministry with us. I am truly grateful to him and I thank him on your behalf as well. My cup runneth over! My doctor told me to lose some weight and I did. I arrived at Sacred Heart and in two weeks I put some back on already. I am truly blessed. Many of you have offered to bring food in various delicious forms to me at the rectory. I am so grateful to you and it serves as another sign of the goodness that is ever present at Sacred Heart Parish. Please be assured that I will ask if I am in need of food. Having lived on my own for a number of years, I am pretty self-sufficient and I have been able to provide for myself. Due to a chronic condition that I have had for a number of years, I do have some dietary restrictions, so I would not want to waste any food that I was unable to eat. Again, thank you and I will reach out if I am in need. As part of last year's budget, Father McKee had planned for an upgrade to the kitchen in the rectory. The project was supposed to have already been completed. Due to the Covid-19 novel Coronavirus pandemic, this was not possible. We are now able to commence our work on this project. After considering the long term needs of the parish and consulting with Mike McGann, our facilities manager, we will move forward with this plan with an adjustment. We are going to use our own staff to make a humble upgrade to the kitchen at very low cost. Also, we are going to reinstall a simple kitchen in the back part of the rectory. All of this will add up to a significant savings to our parish, as this plan will cost less than the original plan and it will add value to the property. I am grateful to Mike McGann and I realize that his superior skill set is the reason we are able to do what is best for Sacred Heart. I hope you have persevered well through the heat wave this week and that you are enjoying some peaceful downtime during these summer months. Peace, Fr. Nordeman
On Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the 5:00pm Vigil Mass,
Most Reverend John J. McIntyre Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia
will officially install Rev. John J. Nordeman
as Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish
On this special feast of our Blessed Mother, we pray that
Mary will intercede always for Father Nordeman
as he shepherds and guides the parishioners of
Sacred Heart Parish,leading them
closer to Jesus.

of Coronavirus Pandemic!
WHEN WE CAN’T RECEIVE HOLY COMMUNION, MAKE A SPIRITUAL
COMMUNION! ACT OF SPIRITUAL
COMMUNIONMy Jesus, I believe that You are present in the
Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my
soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
