Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Lord, Welcome!

Happy Birthday Church!! I rejoice in your presence with the Sacred Heart worshiping community as we celebrate our Eucharistic Liturgy for Pentecost Sunday. We are

blessed through your prayerful participation. Thanks for joining us! On Pentecost, we celebrate the presence of the Holy Spirit, as promised by Jesus, within the community of believers, yesterday and today. In today’s reading from the Acts of the Apostles, the appearance of the Spirit is seen in the disciples’ proclamation heard in “different tongues.” The Holy Spirit inspired the Church communities of yesterday in living the command to love one another. The Holy Spirit continues to inspire the communities of faith today. You, the community of Sacred Heart, witness to the Holy Spirit’s influence in your compassionate care for others, both in our parish and beyond. May we continue to be open to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit as we persevere in becoming the Body of Christ. Many thanks for your donations for the Manna Collection! Many thanks to the 19 nominees for our Parish Pastoral Council! I appreciate their willingness to serve on this “think tank” known as Pastoral Council. The newly elected were John Penezic and Deirdre Sansoni.

The Priest assignments were issued last Sunday. Sorry to say, after only one year, Fr. Kean has been assigned to Pope John Paul II High School

in Schwenksville. Fr. Kean has been a blessing for me in the rectory and assisting at our weekend Liturgies. I was just getting used to him! In his place, Rev. Michael Speziale

has been assigned to Sacred Heart, with his ministry at Archbishop Carroll High School. These changes take place on June 30. Peace be with you! God bless, Fr. McKee

PS. Thanks to the Knights of Columbus, who will be hosting a reception after this Sunday’s Masses. Come on over for refreshments!

Pentecost is the day that the church was born. For two millennia, Christians have been celebrating the church's birthday with joy and exuberance. The purest meaning of Pentecost is that of a time of renewal for Christian believers. There is a renewed focus on evangelism, empowerment from the Holy Spirit, deeper intimacy with God, and fellowship. For Christians, the celebration of Pentecost imparts faith, hope, a sharing of community, and an awareness of a purpose much greater than themselves. The real marvel is that the Holy Spirit works through us and in us in our world. The gifts of the Holy Spirit - wisdom, insight, counsel, power, knowledge and fear of the Lord - enable us to grow and work, showing forth in our life the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness, gentleness and self control.

Come, Holy Spirit!
