PRAYERS OF PENITENCE Celebrant Our Lord Jesus Christ said: The first commandment is

this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is the only Lord. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength’. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’. There is no other commandment greater than these. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

All Amen. Lord have mercy.

Celebrant Christ our passover lamb has been sacrificed for us.Let us therefore rejoice by putting away all malice and evil and confessing our sins with a sincere and true heart.

All Lord God, we have sinned against you; we have done evil in your sight. We are sorry and repent. Have mercy on us according to your love. Wash away our wrongdoing and cleanse us from our sin. Renew a right spirit within us and restore to us the joy of your salvation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Celebrant Almighty God, who forgives all who truly repent, have mercy upon us, pardon and deliver us from all our sins, confirm and strengthen us in all goodness, and keep us in life eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

All Amen.

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

Where streams of living water flowmy ransomed soul he leadeth, and where the verdant pastures growwith food celestial feedeth.

Perverse and foolish oft I strayed, but yet in love he sought me,and on his shoulder gently laid, and home rejoicing brought me.

In death’s dark vale I fear no illwith thee, dear Lord, beside me;thy rod and staff my comfort still, thy cross before to guide me.

Thou spread’st a table in my sight, thy unction grace bestoweth;and O what transport of delightfrom thy pure chalice floweth!

And so through all the length of daysthy goodness faileth never:good Shepherd, may I sing thy praisewithin thy house for ever.

THE LITURGY OF THE SACRAMENTWe stand to share the peace:The PeaceCelebrant The risen Christ came and stood among his disciples

and said, ‘Peace be with you.’Then were they glad when they saw the Lord. Alleluia.

The peace of the Lord be always with you. All And also with you.

Let us offer one another a sign of peace.

As the Body of Christ receives its life from God, and offers its life to God, so we, as members of that Body, greet each other in love.

The Preparation of the TableThe Taking of the Bread and Wine

Hymn 52: Caroline Noel.

At the name of Jesus ev’ry knee shall bow, ev’ry tongue confess him king of glory now; ’tis the Father’s pleasure we should call him Lord, who, from the beginning,

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

was the mighty Word.

At his voice creationsprang at once to sight, all the angels’ facesall the hosts of light, thrones and dominations, stars upon their way,all the heav’nly orders,in their great array.

Humbled for a season, to receive a name from the lips of sinners unto whom he came, faithfully he bore it spotless to the last, brought it back victorious when from death he passed.

Bore it up triumphantwith its human light, through all ranks of creatures,to the central height,to the throne of Godhead,to the Father’s breast;filled it with the gloryof that perfect rest.

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

In your hearts enthrone him;there let him subdueall that is not holy, all that is not true:crown him as your captainin temptation’s hour;let his will enfold youin its light and pow’r.

Truly, this Lord Jesusshall return again, with his Father’s glory, with his angel train;for all wreaths of empiremeet upon his brow, and our hearts confess himKing of glory now.

Celebrant It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, always and everywhere to give you thanks, almighty and eternal Father, and in these days of Easter to celebrate with joyful hearts the memory of your wonderful works. For by the mystery of his passion Jesus Christ, your risen Son, has conquered the powers of death and helland restored in men and women the image of your glory.

He has placed them once more in paradise and opened to them the gate of life eternal. And so, in the joy of this Passover, earth and heaven resound with gladness, while angels and archangels and the powers of all creation sing for ever the hymn of your glory:

A Gregory Murray, OSB 1905-1992©1975, 1987 McCrimmon Publishing LtdAll Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,

Heaven and earth are full of your glory.Hosanna in the highest.Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.Hosanna in the highest.

We praise and bless you, loving Father, through Jesus Christ, our Lord; and as we obey his command, send your Holy Spirit, that broken bread and wine outpoured may be for us the body and blood of your dear Son.On the night before he died he had supper with his friends and, taking bread, he praised you. He broke the bread, gave it to them and said: Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of

me.

When supper was ended he took the cup of wine. Again he praised you, gave it to them and said: Drink this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.

So, Father, we remember all that Jesus did, in him we plead with confidence his sacrifice made once for all upon the cross. Bringing before you the bread of life and cup of salvation, we proclaim his death and resurrection until he comes in glory.

Praise to you Lord Jesus:All Dying you destroyed our death,

Rising you restored our life:Lord Jesus, come in glory.

Lord of all life, help us to work together for that daywhen your kingdom comes and justice and mercy will be seen in all the earth. Look with favour on your people, gather us in your loving arms and bring us with St Margaret and all the saints to feast at your table in heaven. Through Christ, and with Christ, and in Christ,in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honour and glory are yours, O loving Father, for ever and ever. Amen.

Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Blessed are those who are called to his supper.

All Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be healed.

Draw near with faith. Receive the body of our Lord Jesus Christ which he gave for you, and his blood which he shed for you. Eat and drink in remembrance that he died for you, and feed on him in your hearts by faith with thanksgiving.

Mayfayre: A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Mayfayre last Monday in any capacity be it large or small. We are especially grateful to the people who took over running stalls where a number of the regulars had retired, and to the intrepid who braved the weather, some as late as 8pm, to clear up and pack away. Heavy showers in the afternoon led to the Fayre finishing a little earlier than usual and consequently lower overall takings than last year. Nonetheless, the result was very pleasing given the weather conditions and we have received many positive comments from a wide range of people. It will be some while before we know exactly how much we made but in the meantime the Treasurer has produced a list of takings for each individual stall (before expenses) which is displayed on the porch noticeboard.

A big thank you to all those who contributed to the May Fayre by providing flowers in the church. You really pulled out all the stops this year and made some really interesting and informative displays. Many thanks Sue.

We are looking for a volunteer to help clean Lychgate Cottage. If you have some spare time please contact Mave in the parish office. Thank you.

Holiday Club: Our holiday this year runs from 1st-4th August and we are in urgent need of helpers. Our holiday club is popular and is a great chance to share our faith and have fun with children from our local community. Because the club is running earlier in the summer than in previous years, a few of our normal adult helpers aren’t able to staff the club this year, and the fear is that we won’t be able to run it unless some new adults step forward. Could you offer a week of your time? Speak to Jamie, Veryan or Claire Budd for more information.
