A REMINDER TO ALL VOLUNTEERS

The newsletter is meant for all or you…it is your news! Please consider submitting articles and information about volunteer's health, special projects etc. so the newsletter is written by all of us, not only a few. The lack of a wide variety of submissions makes the newsletter often seem written from one point of view….If there is a volunteer you think needs highlighted... submit a story. Remember facts and photos make my job easier . No one knows better than you, what is happening and who does what in our own areas. Remember... articles may be edited or rejected. THANK YOU for your support. Your Editor

Volunteer News NEW VOLUNTEERS We wish to welcome the new volunteers that have joined the WarmHearts~Warm Babies ranks during the last month. And we wish to thank those that have spread our mission and helped bring in these volunteers. Sorry for no individual names (please know how important you are to us). The list of the names of these new volunteers was inadvertently deleted (would you believe...MY DOG ATE IT??).

PLEASE KEEP IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS All of the WHWB Volunteers -They are the ones that keep our organization alive and growing. Especially remember those that are struggling to keep going and not “burn out”. Sister Boyd, Sister Hall and all the previous Mormon Missionaries as they continue their mission. We are thankful for with their service and blessing to Warm Hearts~Warm Babies while volunteering many hours at the Baby House for over the last six months. Connie Stiger- recovering from surgery Neva Applehauns - as she faces her husband’s failing health Cindy Miller- for continued strength Nancy and Fred Staup -as they face the decision to place his father in a extended care facility Jo Eagan- recovering from surgery Pat Moore- undergoing surgery Lynette DeGoche - and her husband as he undergoes major medical tests All Volunteers that need our thoughts and prayers that we are not aware of at this time.

Hello from Baby Ella "Happy Spring To All And A Blessed Easter to those who Celebrate" I was at the Baby House the other day and found several bins almost empty. We are almost out

of boy and girl sleepers, bibs, and onesies.... Remember we wear sleepers everywhere (sort of like adults wear sweats) and being out of them is not a good thing. And onesies are always important under clothes when it is cool, and with the warmth of Summer coming upon us many mothers will be using them as outerwear.

Bottles, pacifiers, and toiletries are always in short supply. Right now we have a few, but will be out when the next deliveries are assembled. (Remember these items are available at the Dollar Tree, and even one helps a baby!).

Spring Cleaning time is here…time to put away the heavy winter fabrics and get the spring and Summer fabrics out. This give you a good opportunity to evaluate your needs and start shopping the bright and light fabrics…Sales are always fun and exciting!

Love, Baby Ella

April is National Volunteer Month. There hasn’t been an act or proclamation for a national volunteer month. However, many organizations that celebrate National Volunteer Week have expanded volunteer recognition to include the entire month of April. In 2014, Volunteer Recognition Day is April 20 . National Volunteer Week was established in 1974 by former President Richard Nixon to recognize the millions of people who give of their own time to help others. Why are volunteers such a big deal that they get a whole month? "Volunteers are the passion for the action." Without volunteers there is so much that wouldn’t happen. Organizations such as the Red Cross, United Way and Warm Hearts wouldn’t be able to do the work they do. Warm Hearts would not exist without volunteers. Volunteers are found in hospitals, schools and many government agencies. Many events are organized and carried out by volunteers. Volunteers provide billions of dollars worth of services. Try to imagine how much it would cost to hire and pay the volunteers we depend upon in hospitals and schools. How much would it cost to provide the services of such events as the 9 Health Fair? One definition of the term volunteer is to offer to give one’s own free will without being asked or obliged. There are many reasons a person may choose to be a volunteer. It might be that a person wants to learn a new skill, make new friends, feel useful or give back to a community that helped them in the past. Whatever the reason....

"VOLUNTEERS ...KEEP IT ALL TOGETHER" This originally appeared in the April 2011 WHWB newsletter. It was updated for 2014.

Thanx to the original author...Frances Scott.

Not because they’re worthless,

But because they are priceless."
