SOCIO ECONOMIC CONDITIONS IN THE VILLAGE

1. Education

• Number of schools – 5 (4 primary, 1 highschool)

• Number of students – 159

• Drop out rates is hardly 2-3%

• Mid day meal scheme is being implemented successfully.

• Parents are willing to send their kids to schools with an average enrolment rate of 11-12 per year.

1.1 Concerns

• Need for a higher secondary school since there is school facility only till 7th standard in the village

• Inadequate infrastructure in school- need more benches, electricity supply, playground facilities, drinking water.

• Need for capacity building and upgradation- need for set up of computers to promote e-learning, need to hire more teaching staff for better coordination.

• 1 PDS shop, 901 beneficiaries out of which 50 are antyodya food security card holders. AFSC holders get 35kgs rice and 1 kg sugar per month. 851 get 6kgs rice per month at the rate of Rs 1 per kg. There are upto 30% absentees and the backlog stock is distributed in the following months
